My name is Nicole and I teach photography and post-processing here and on my website, nicolesy.com. I've authored several photography books and video courses, and love a variety of photographic genres.
In the 2024 version of Photoshop, to create a clipping mask, you should right-click on the image and select "Create Clipping Mask" (or the shortcut Option+Command+G on Mac) from the drop-down menu. Holding down the 'Option' or 'Alt' key will not work for this action.
Your methods will work. However, holding the Opt (Mac) or Alt (Win) key also still works in Ps 2024 when you hover the cursor in-between the layers you want to clip.
@@nicolesy You are right! I just realized my mistake. I wasn't doing it correctly. It works when I drag and drop "in-between" the layers. Previously, I mistakenly dragged the image layer directly onto the rectangle layer, which caused a duplicate 🙃.
Best photoshop video ever, straight to the point and didnt tell a backstory on how you got into graphic design. I subscribed without looking at another video, this one sold me!
ADAMSKI BLUR, it's called " Panning " technic back on the film photography Era where photographer were more into capture technics rather than photoshop technics
In the way past I used Aperture on my MAC which is no longer. I cannot seem to remove the folder in Local, under pictures. Right click doesn't do it. They are empty folders. Any help appreciated.
You have one of the best voices to listen to during a training video. It’s not boring. It’s easy to listen to and it doesn’t put me to sleep make more videos.
Thanks, but this does not work in my Lightroom CC today. You seem to be correct, since everyone else also says it should work, but for my installation it does not. Nothing happens if I right click :-( Solution: I had to make a new preset
Hello Nicole. Everything works well thus far. Got stuck on the video at 5:10. Regarding the Gradient tool - nothing happens when I released the mouse. I just have these big round gradient circles on the screen. Can't to figure out how to get rid on the circles off screen and fill in the parts I need. Suggestions?
so well explained! I love the fact you zoom in to show each icon and steps, lots of other video just said do this and do that without show it clearly, always have to stop and rewind back to see exactly what they are doing, but your video zoomed in with enlarged icon, so easy to follow! big thank you!
If you are referring to the indicators that you would use to create the rounded corners, first you will want to make sure that you have the same version (or newer) of Photoshop that is shown in the videos. You may also need to go to View > Extras and make sure that it is checked to show those circle indicators.
