She didn’t look “fat,” just somewhat bloated, likely due to stress and inflammatory food/supplements/whatever else she was consuming. Nonetheless, it’s generally ok for a gymnast to gain weight if her body adapts and develops the strength to handle her new weight, otherwise there could be increased risk on her joints, tendons, and muscles with the extra load. One of the top 5 or so vaulters of all time. Atler, Biles, Shushunova, Maroney, Retton, maybe Andrade. With similar equipment and training, any of those five could have been second only to Biles.
