Very informative to one who may soon face 3rd surgery. Hoping for useful findings from 4D CT, and good to know that PVS might be another means of localization. Bravo to all involved!
I had a port there for 6 years (one year longer than normal but it have constant blockages in the final year). After removing it i suffered a thrombosis of the SVC due to the tube rubbing the vein and causing damage. It was 2cm x 3cm. We started warfarin and struggled with my INR so i demanded that I be switched to Rivaroxaban and the clot healed. I’m now running out of peripheral veins to the point that an ultrasound guided cannulation caused my hand to go number and blood backed up in my arm because my veins are literally shit. The back up cause a migraine during IV antibiotics and I had constant nausea for 2 weeks. I need another port but i only need IVABs yearly so doctors wont allow me to get one.
I had my port removed today, but I never really understood how it had gone into the vein in the first place. A great video that really helps you visualize how it works.
My mom just gotten diagnosed with gastric cancer. I am so torn and scared. But I got to be brave for my mom and keep her strong through this journey. She's getting her port put in right now.
I had a tips procedure about 20 years ago, and only now are my specialists looking into whether I require a revision. Thanks for the very clear and concise video. Kindest regards Steve. 🤓 🇦🇺
Chronic pain costs the united States directly or indirectly about a trillion dollars. These researchers and doctors are garbage at their jobs and haven't had a breakthrough in twenty years
I had this procedure done in a hospital in New Jersey, a shot of morphine was put in my hand, without being sedated. or given general anesthesia they put the needle and tube in my back.
3:21 why is is that when I cut myself on the job, it bleeds like crazy but you can cut a long incision with almost no bleeding? I want some of that magic.
Thank for the education. I am having TIPS done in 2 weeks. Despite several talks with the IR teams and the surgeon I still like to do my own homework. I feel safe now because in this video I have been explained everything said. This is good to watch and I’ll recommend it to others as I can.
Just had tips, for chronic portal hypertension without cirrhosis. Procedure went well but have pain in incision areas and generally feeling unwell. Definitely not an easy recovery like everyone makes it sound but still minimally invasive
I searched and searched to find a video that showed exactly how the port was placed. I have never had a surgery and I was so scared not only having been diagnosed with Cancer but having this immediate surgery. THANK YOU
