This vid was awesome Though the smoke particles from Battersea Power Station Killed your frame rate I was pleased to see the Palace of Westminster put in an appearance Joking aside the multi cargo platforms I was intrigued by that I've been doing it wrong for years
Thanks for mentioning the smoke particles. It gave me an idea. I'm currently working on a map for a new video. And it recently started to have some FPS problems. Maybe the problems are caused by all of those factories and steam engines? The map theme is Pennsylvania Railroad - 1950's. And I think I may have gone overboard and put to much on the map.
@General_Tso absolutely the steam and smoke particles will definitely affect your FPS I think there's a mod that lets you fiddle with the quantity of those particles
Thanks! I'm glad you like it. Sorry, but I never uploaded a map because it requires hundreds of mods. Including a couple of custom ones. So it would to difficult trying to get it to work for other people.
But how many hours does it take you to do this ? i spent several hundreds of hours on saves, and i wasnt even close to this. These videos are master piece of civil engineering.
Thanks you! I'm glad you liked the video. I can't give you a number of hours because I never kept track. But it usually takes about 6 months to make one of these videos. So it's a lot. :)
@@General_Tso Thanks for the reply, mays i ask what are your computer specs ? Also what size of map.do you use ? on this video performance seems very good. even with all these mods. Do you make like a regular playtrough or focus entirely about making specific train routes, time tables, and cities along that route specific to the video you are making ?
@@AdamL_18 i7-13700KF CPU, 64GB Ram, NVidia 4080 GPU, high speed SSD. I think the map size was very large 1:2 format. The amount of regular game type playing I do on the map varies from video to video. For this video, everything was 100% created just for the video - no regular game play involved. That helped with the frame rate.
Select any vehicle and a little window opens with a view of the vehicle. In the top left corner of the view there is a small camera icon. Click on the icon.
Sorry, but at this point the saved game would be of little use. It requires hundreds of mods. And some of them are not publicly available. It would take a lot of effort to try to get it working. And would probably end up failing.
That was my fault. I must have forgotten to take care of that problem when making this video. If I had thought about it. I would have gotten rid of them. The bird sounds can be removed manually by messing around with files or you can use a mod... steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2885782343&searchtext=bird+sound
@@andrius2254 I'm currently subscribed to over a thousand mods. And unfortunately there's no way that I know of to obtain a list of the ones used on that map. I'm not 100% certain but I think this is the mod that I used for that elevated station. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2315563115&searchtext=elevated+station
Every time I see one of these it makes me not only want to jump back into transport fever but also inspires me a bit to do some better detailing even if it only me that’ll see it because they level of realism you achieve with detail is remarkable, really makes for a better experience.
American Trains mixed with German (ICE, Talent 2), France (TGV), Spain Train, Belgien (Thalys) and Japan Train, ok ok ok very Interesting. But its just a Game
I tried to keep things interesting with as many different things to look at as possible. By using everything available. There is more stuff to look at. Just for fun.
Unfortunately that wouldn't work. The map includes hundreds of mods. Including a few custom mods I made for my own use and can't upload because they contain stuff from other people's mods. Even without the custom mods. There would probably be problems with some of the older mods. Sorry about that.
@@artikostudios1136 It's been so long since I made that video that I don't remember the map size. And I can't open that map anymore to check. But I'm sure it isn't megalomanic because I've never used that size. I'm guessing it was either a large or very large map. It looks larger because I spent a lot of time packing things together. The line you are riding on actually twists around a lot so that it runs close to itself in many areas. I just used things like mountains, cities, and trees to block the view.
Sorry, I tried looking for the mod but I can't find it. I get all of my mods from two places. The Steam Workshop and transportfever.net. So it should be available at one of those two places. Trying to manage mods in Transport Fever is a real headache for me. Sorry I couldn't help you more. If at a later time, I figure out which mod it was, I'll post the name here.
I have difficulty keeping track of all of my mods. But here are some of the warehouses I used. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2869819494 www.transportfever.net/filebase/entry/4047-amazone-zentrallager/ Usually when I'm trying to find a mod. I look in the workshop first. If I can't find it there. Then I checkout transportfever.net.
I forget exactly which mod that is. But I got all of my mods from either the Steam Workshop or TransportFever.net. So it came from one of those two places.
Yeah they are all placed manually. This video has cities that were built by the game and then I added a bunch of stuff. But with some of my other videos I started with a blank map and add everything. So they were even more fun. :)
Thank you! I'm glad you like it. Map size: Very large map. 1:2 format. Most of the travel was along the long axis of the map. So it makes it seem bigger. You can use maps that are even larger. But you need to enable experimental map size. Here are some directions if you are interested. www.transportfever2.com/wiki/doku.php?id=gamemanual:mapsizes
I created my own custom tracks by combining several mods that I downloaded. Most of the stuff including the catenary came from this mod: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2830813438&searchtext=ussr I have no idea what station I actually used in Brunswick. But it looks like I used this mod to update some or all of it: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2501969854&searchtext=angier Sorry about the vague answers. I love TF2. But the modding system tends to be very confusing. I have over 600 mods in that map. And whether it's answering your question or just working on the map. I often end up not being able to do what I want because I can't find the mod I'm looking for.
Very large map. 1:2 format. Sky rotated to 60 degrees using the debug window. I rotated the sky to make shadows look better and also help reduce flicker in the most common direction the train traveled.
Man, it’s been ages since you posted a video. Glad to see you’re back. As always, fantastic framerates, assets, scenery, layout, etc. You make the best TF2 cab rides out there. I just can’t figure out how to record from the cab like u do.
I used a little over 600 mods. Unfortunately there is know way that I know of to make a complete list of them. If you have a few specific questions. I can try to answer them if possible.
@@General_Tso thanks mate but the Amazone assets caused the game to crash on loading (the game told me it was that one that caused it AND removing it fixed it)
Very nice. Only thing I would add is lower speed track at the sheds/crossovers and individual catenary mast placing at junctions/stations [where the game leaves them out] as we said on Steam. Also some trackside fencing with bushes/trees/weeds would add to it too and some invisible horn waypoints [or press the H key yourself] before entering the sheds to give it the authentic feel. Nice layout you have there.
Thank you for the comments! If you have any suggestions on how to manually implement catenary. I'd be very interested in hearing them. I'd also be interested in learning about horn waypoints. (Where do I find the mods?) As far as the slower track speed. I had everything I needed to that and was going to make it happen. But I was concerned that some viewers might find the extend slow speed boring. So I left it out. (Maybe I should have added it?)
I Just realized that I may have a better answer to your question. Sorry about that. I was half asleep when I answered the first time. After you create a switch that is the intersection of two tracks (x connection not y connection). You can click on the switch and change it to a double slip switch. However if the angle is to great then the double slip switch option will not be available.
Long freight trains. ;) Most of the cities do not receive all of the goods required. But they have enough to maintain their size. I increased the maximum size of the cities using the editor tab. They still need supplies to grow. And I'm not sure one way or the other. But making those changes MIGHT make it easier to have big cities. Also the really big buildings in the big city at the center of the map. were manually placed there by me. I also added a bunch of smaller stuff close to the tracks you are traveling on. But other than that the rest of the stuff is "real".
It's been long enough since I made the video that I'm not sure how many trains there are over all. But I tried to make as many trains visible as possible while keeping the over all number low as possible. (To help with the FPS.)
Я замітив "Батьківщину Мати" статую, тепер знаю, що не зря подивився відео. I noticed the "Motherland" statue, now I know that I watched the video for a reason. 31:30
1:35 My wife walked in the room and looked at the screen and almost had a heart attack thinking this woman was about ran over by a real train. Awesome video.
