".... You know that was the time I was most frightened. Waitin’ for my turn. I’ll never put on a lifejacket again. So, eleven hundred men went into the water. 316 men come out, the sharks took the rest, June the 29th, 1945. Anyway, we delivered the bomb.” - Quint
"Farewell an' adieu to you fair Spanish ladies, Farewell an' adieu to you ladies of Spain...." "For we've received orders for to sail for old England, An' hope very shortly to see you again" 😮
@@jericoba It's about contrast. Shark eyes have a reflective, double exposure film. In blue water, yellow is a very high-contrast color. Most sharks prey have a belly or scales of high-contrast.
@@MDK3192 Yes, so it's _not_ about the color yellow. It's about the choice of bright color that _can_ create more contrast. If you meant that originally, then it was unclear and I wanted to correct you.
@@MDK3192 I know the popular topic, and it’s incorrect by biologists that the color hue is significant due to its wavelength. You said it, it’s the contrast, which is not bound to yellow.
Anyone who's seen the Egypt 2023 tiger shark attack video knows what it looks like when a human is on the menu. Horrible. This dude is lucky the shark didn't turn around and hit again, or get his leg instead of the kayak.
Nice uku! Ever try the spray gun method for removing scales? I use to select the "jet" setting on the sprayer nozzle then blast the scales off shooting from tail towards head. Works pretty good on some fish. The caveat is that the scales go flying every where in the yard. lol
It would have been nice to load up on the daytime opelu since I often can't catch 'em. This was my best catch of them and I ended up with less than 8 total. The leftovers were frozen to be used later.
😂 bro everyone arguing in the shorts comments. I'm not even watching it yet and I guess that it was drawn to you because of the catch that you had procured. The vibrations of a thrashing fish would draw in a tiger shark more than the sight of those paddle.
Several guys have died in Hawaii fishing this way, it's nearly always a tiger shark, can be very aggressive, lately also some surfers same place, can grow to 5 to 6 metres!! 😮 WTF, cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 👍 😊
I think you are a cool cat under pressure, kept your head, and remained safe, great work! I'm glad that tiger scumbag took a powder on account of you are not a seal. Great fish you caught also, looks great to eat.
Ok wait…all you have to do is gently redirect the tiger’s nose. They are just docile and curious… at least, that’s what that girl who dives with the sharks says 🤷🏼♂️
It can work, unless the shark is attacking with force, it won't help pushing it off, but you should always do what you can to be a struggling and inconvenient meal. It might give up.
Damage to the kayak and paddle was very minimal. This video goes over the extent of damage: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ysEKt7Qj1G4.html
Good thing that tiger shark didn't get you. I'm amazed that there's knot a single scratch on you. I mean even if that tiger shark, had grazed you. It would have meant big trouble.
With your paddle attached but floating to the side of the kayak, it’s likely the Tiger Shark confused that silhouette for potential prey sitting along the water line like a wounded seal or other sea mammal. Large sharks like Tigers, Great Whites, and others will often attack their prey from behind and under. And biting the paddle area mimics biting a seal or other sea mammal on their flippers to incapacitate the prey and prevent escape since Sea mammals get propulsion from their rear flippers.
This is where a knife on ur leg comes in handy. Most likely won’t kill the shark but he got the message… I like how some peeps are like “it’s their ocean” Bull sharks are annoying and south Florida 1990’s you’d see circling the boat… we GenX kids never killed em. We’d eff w/ em and push a homie in but they weren’t a big problem… 1995-Jupiter= they were attracted to the bass!! This was the 1999’s and fisherman had FOUR 12’ woofers on boats.. man what a fun time.
