I think you are one of the few that made an update on the challenge it make me whonder if the timing of the challenge (mid sommer) killed most if the trees, allso most ppl got tree and pot but reused soil, maybe sommer work and bad soil choice is not the best, i just posted a short video on my tree i did not "join" the challenge in a video i just did it in the background with my son
@@greenmachinesweden yes yours i found but i was thinking about all the others, only a few ever made an update, and back then the idear was so good and realy conected the channels and followers got to find new channels to follow, but maybe that was just me finding it so fun
Good morning Magnus! Guess what, I’m going to Ikea on Friday with my daughter and granddaughters to buy a floor lamp I’ve been wanting for ages! I think it will always make me think of you, I know you’re proud of Ikea! God bless you 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. 🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱👍
Oh, Gaye. During my study years I lived very close to the first ever IKEA store. Obviously rebuilt a few times but still "ground zero". Last years I found amazing kangaroo paws in IKEA. They did not survive winter and this year they are not to be found. Are there any in UK IKEA?😃👍
I’ll have a look. I’ve only been once before n with two girls under 5 it was a bit mind blowing! They seem to go often, it’s near their nursery, funny how they managed to miss the plants section! I wonder why?! Kangaroo Paw does overwinter down here, given a very sheltered position, but our climate is very influenced by the Gulf Stream, or should I say WAS ?! ✌️
Yes, west coast Sweden where I am have the same climate as England, just slightly colder. Kind of like coastal parts of Scotland I guess. I think the issue with overwintering KP is wet and soggy most of the winter, not temperature.
Actually Devon/Cornwall is a lot further south and west than it appears on maps, seen on the globe it can be appreciated properly. But yes, winter wet is often the killer wherever you are in the northern hemisphere I’d say. btw isn’t it wonderful to have Sam back after 11 months?! 🥰 I keep rewatching these precious new videos, dear man..🥹
I live in Uppsala (zone 7a). I have a norther balcony. I do not think the tree will be happy if I leave it in that balcony during the winter. I am thinking as soon as the temperature get to 0 or a bit below zero I bring the tree indoor and keep it next to my south facing window or under growth light. Is it something that you think would keep the tree reasonably happy?
This was an awesome video of an amazingly neat and beautiful garden. at 9:30 you had a carnivor plant on the outside table. Do you have more information about that where I could read/watch?
Thanks for watching and comenting. Means a lot to me. There is a video from when I created the miniature carnivore bog and one update video on my channel. In the start there were only small utricularias. Last authum I sowed some miniature Drosera capensis as well, which has established themselves quite well. I will take some time to document it before I put it in for winter. There will be a big Heliamphora care guide as well come winter.
Well done Magnus! I know just how much work you put into your open garden day as I’ve helped quite a few people prepare their gardens for our National Garden Scheme over the years. AND you did a workshop too! Respect ! Lovely to see your garden in its entirety; you’ve made a beautiful environment for wildlife and people, I just love it
Ohh, Gaye!! You of all would know. It was a lot of work but it was all worth it. Next year I will spend the day of the event visiting other gardens. Thanks for watching and your support Nonna.😃👍
Thank you for showing your beautiful garden! Lots of exciting plants and colorful big Koi fishes! And very interesting to hear you telling more about them. 🌿👍
Awesome to get the full view of your property Magnus Very happy you do this Love the lanterns and the filter house Koi look good. Will be nice to see your aquarium I didn't know you had this much!!! In your yard
Thanks Chris for all your support. I have not been able to show everything at once. There are always a mess at some place. But not at this moment. So happy to share it and so happy you liked it.😃👍
Man tackar.
bro just leave the trees alone for a few years. I can tell you just want to clip anything you can or do SOMETHING. Learn some patience and just let th tree grow
Thank you very much for the very well put video, it makes a lot of things clear to me. Could I ask if you have any recommendation for where from to buy a Chinese Elm either in Sweden or from somewhere that is deliverable to Sweden?
Thanks for watching and comenting, very appreciated. Chinese elms can be found in almost any garden center. But TBH, most of them is crap and have very little bonsai quality. If you want fairly good trees, talk to Magnus at bonsai och trädgård. www.bonbonsai.se/ He makes imports every spring and I think he still have a few left. But I recomend a visit and to pick the prefered tree yourself instead of ordering by mail.
The choice of pot should be based on the trees that is going into it. For forests I like to think that the pot should be around the same size as the hight of the biggest tree in the group. I like dark unglaced pots for conifers. Brown never go wrong.
@@greenmachinesweden I thinking about 5-7 trees. They're around 2-5yo Can't decide if I should get an 18, 21, or 26 inch pot. I might just go with a 21 or 26 and let it grow from there
Sorry for the delay... Have had grandson for a week.. Lots of work my friend... And you are rocking out!!! When is the next koi and filter video... I love them.... And of course now you have a fish tank ...and those amazing frogs. I was actually doing the same working on raised gsrdens.. tomatoes, corn, beans.... And doing a few hydroponic again this year.. Glad you are starting up the koi pond. It got hot today.... 27c I do love your layout for your garden.
Thanks Chris! I kinda got out of koi related topics. My way of keeping koi is just not interesting for the broad koi pond audience. Working on a extensive vid on bog filter care, biology, benefits and drawbacks. Will be filmed during a full season and released come authum. The planned aquarium build has not happened yet, so much other things to do. But the fish is fine in the temporary tub and will be moved out this weekend. That will definetely be a video sooner or later.
@@greenmachinesweden I don't get many koi viewers but I know that going in.. I think I have a nice koi pond.. and your filtration is the best!!! And you know I love bog filtration
Ohh, about the time. I am so sorry. I did say closest win in the givaway vid. But since time constraints stoped me from doing it all as planned, I thought it would be more fair to give to everyone that guessed more. This also means I need to ship more packages longer distances. I hope you do not mind.
Nice video!! I have a question, I need lime sulfur for dead wood in a juniper but I can't find anything in sweeden, do you have any alternative that works, anything for dead wood treatment, thanks in advance!!
Thanks a lot for joining me on the premiere! I am glad you found a local. Go visit Jay one day, you may find bonsai another relaxing hobby that suits well for Canada as well.😀👍
If you said northern Spain I would agree🤣. Up here we have them everywhere, so not many grow them as bonsai. However, a very sought after species in America and Australia both as garden tree as well as bonsai. Strange that we always look at the other side of the planet when some of the best species for bonsai is outside our doorsteps. Thanks for watching and comenting, very much appreciated.😀👍
Good to catch up with the birches and they don’t seem to have been harmed by your leaving the wire on overlong, phew! God bless you 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. 🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱
Hello my friend. Really liking the apple tree and the clumo of white birch. I love that tree, one of my favorite trees. I have yellow birch in my front yard. Your bunch of birch looks close to the one by the road Your friends tree who lives in a dorm is a very good looking tree and his tree is in good hands.
Thanks Chris. When I worked on Illias tree I did regret a bit giving it away. But if it will inspire him to continue in the hobby it is all worth it. My team won against the current champions in 4 games straight. We are in the final!😀👍
