I’m a Bruins fan and they got what they deserved in 2010 they weren’t mentally tough at all. This was worth it for 2011 sweeping this same Flyers team on road to their first Stanley Cup Championship since 1972. And Philly still hasn’t won one since 1975.
I watched this full game recently and you can clearly see how much that 3OT win over Michigan just a couple nights before sapped the Black Bears. They started slow before making it a game, but this insanely talented BU had the legs and skill to pull away.
greatest come back in flyers history (this is why rask totally belongs in the frgin hall of shame when it camedown to crunch time rask was a friggin LOSER )
WHY did I suddenly have to relive this game? To think Gireaux was a rookie! Now TEN PLUS years later and still NO CUP. Bruins? What sweet revenge the next TWO YEARS 😒
Whatever opinion someone has about the Flyers they can’t deny their fan base. They are very loud also. Went to one game there but would go to several when they came to NJ! They’re loud and they come in a pretty decent size. In Philly I went to game 1 of the 2000 ECF. Loudest arena I’ve heard. At SJ Game 1 Round 2 vs Oilers 2006 was 2nd loudest.
Had my 3 kids with me at the Wachovia Center that night. It’s something we will never forget. Leaving the arena it was absolute madness - in a good way.
Rask was so rattled in this series. Look at Rask in this series, then look at Tim Thomas in the 2011 series, some of the goals Rask let in, Thomas would have stopped blindfolded.
They may have swept us the next season and won the cup. Who cares? Someone wins the cup every year. However, its not every year someone comes back from two 3-0 deficits in the same series. Advantage Flyers.
My brother isn't even in to hockey but watched this series. He told me about the incredible comeback so I started watching it and have been a Flyers fan since then. Through thick and thin. We're going to game 7 Saturday against the Islanders after being down 3-1 in this series. I'm so hype
