I saw Simon when he played in a band called "Chopyn" supporting ELO in 1975 in Leeds. Their album was called " Grand Slam" check it out. Ann O'Dell was in the band. By the way, I didn't know Maradona was on keyboards 😁
Ok I've seen this live now twice and I finally know where I've heard this intro before... Sirius by The Alan Parsons Project! I'm telling you, it's there!
I've listened to a lot of different types of music in my whole life and I've always had a favorite song. But "The Long Road Home" by - in my opinion - the world's best drummer and his indescribably fantastic musicians always brings tears of joy to my eyes. When you talk about perfection in music, this song is the absolute benchmark. I just had to get that off my chest. I envy you all for your musical talent. I love this Song ❤ ‼️
Did not know Simon Phillips’ prominence until seeing him record and perform with Hiromi Uehara, who I believe is genius and savant on piano. After learning about Simon Phillips’ amazing career, I felt wholly ignorant, but then knew why, with so many drummers out there, Hiromi wanted Simon Phillips. This video is just another example of his amazing talent.
This is secretly the greatest Kiesel Ad placement of all time lol. Watching this for the 100th time, just noticed the giant stack of kiesel gig bags behind Alex
Keith Emerson would have loooooooooooooooooved the piano solo ! Great combined effort here, love the close harmonies between the guitar and sax, and of course the not from this Earth drumming.... And ohhhh shot in glorious black and white !!! Love it ! Especially since I'm seriously considering going back to my roots and buy my deceased parent's and my childhood's home.... Hence, appropriate title in that regard, the hymn of my next months....years....
