The floating head artwork you see on most films now is so lazy, uncreative and boring, to replace the art on a old film that didnt previously have it is a crime to cinema.
yah my haul since May 2024: The White Bufffalo Blu Kino: Havent watched the movie for like 46 years, remember liking it back then , now after watching it a few months ago, disappointed, OK movie but not as good as I remembered it. Commentary was OK. informative Film Focus set Gene Hackman Imprint: March or Die was still good, esp. the battle scene at the end. Commentary excellent. Havent watched this for like 45 years. Loved it even more watching it again after all those years. Black Emmanuelle box set Severin: Black emmanuelle, emmanuelle in Bangkok, was mehh. Emanuelle in America was OK however for some reason I loved Black Emmanuelle 2. The booklet that came with it is very excellent very detailed. Also the commentaries were good, Caligula Ultimate Cut Blu Region 2 Spain: a different movie than the original Caligula while I like the original caligula more this was OK. I used to work in Colchester and Essex museums. I held the keys to Colchester Castle. Matthew Hopkins actually visited Colchester Castle. Several "witches" were held in the castle prison, and executed. There is now a stone monument in front of the castle. It is inscribed to the innocent victims of the witch trials. Many Catholics were burned to death outside the castle as well. The film is not entirely accurate, witches in England were hanged, not burned to death as like on the Continent. I have been to many of the location sites used on the film: Lavenham, Long Melford, and Orford Castle.
The VW SP-2 is one of the most beautiful VW vehicles, in my opinion. According to Doug DeMuro's review of the Toyota Sera, it featured an in-built Super Live Sound System Multi-Reflection Speaker (with a choice of Casual Mode or Funky Mode) mounted on the rear deck lid, which is sadly not featured on the Forza model. Also, the Toyota Sera actually came with window shades to stick onto the top of the windows to act like a normal roof.
The Mitsubishi Pajero/Montero Evolution is definitely one of my favourite offroaders, and a great alternative to the Nissan Safari/Patrol. Excellent review I saw the film in the 1970s(yes am that old 😮) and always stuck in my memory as an excellent film and likely one of the first serious films I saw,after as a small child growing up on the standard Western Genre on TV.
Special features on the disc by the way are an interview with actress Candice Bergen and audio commentary with critics Steve Mitchell and Howard S. Berger. My rating for the film is also 4.5/5.
yes Virus, by Kinji Fukkasaku , LOVE THAT MOVIE, and watched that one many a time , and stll holds up to this day. First watched that one in the cinema when it first came out in 1980. That one deserves a deluxe edition copy from Eureka, I have a special edition Out of print Japanese DVD with a big poster of the film and a booklet.
Remember watching this one in 1979 in bootleg betamax 3rd gen copy , I remember liking it so much I watched it 5 times in a week. I remember it was so popular in Japan that they made a TV show for it in the early 80s, called Swords of the Space ark and stars Hiroyuki Sanada( John Wick, Last Samurai, Bullet train) , yah also watched that show on bootleg betamax dubbed in english, basically what if you got Message from Space and mixed it with power rangers. They even had a chewbacca clone who made jokes and did martial arts and sword play hahah. Yep watched Message from Space again 40 years lter in 2010, from a Hong Kong bootleg DVD and it really did not age well. Found it really cheesy. I also found it amusing the princess is quite good at judo in the movie.
They claimed the phase 4 at 300bhp because of safety concerns but they were really around 380bhp and the top speed was 142mph they claimed with a gearing change over 150mph
The most mental Stagea was the Autech 260RS. Shame they didn't choose that one. Neat you can take the front bumper from the R34 Skyline and plop it on here!
Wonderful melodrama. I’ve seen them all previously on DVD. Other actors and actresses supporting Tod Slaughter are as well splendid. Notably, Eric Portman, Bruce Seton, David Williams, et alia.
Oh yes, the Toyota GR Yaris finally in the game. I think it's one of my favourite cars released in the past years because it really is a perfect all-rounder and made for the petrolhead.
