Easily the best video I've seen on these kits, nicely done! I currently have the whole Spearhead squadron and your take on the weathering is exactly what I was looking for. If you don't mind me asking, what supplies did you use exactly? (paint types/names/colors, oil paint, thinner, panel liner, top coat, etc).
Thank you, and that sounds exciting! If you're asking that if I use branded stuff, not really! Most if not everything I used were all cheap/generic branded stuff. I used brown oil paint for the 'browning' base layer and panel lining, the rest are after the fact were all done with just regular old acrylics. My top coat is a satin finish spray can of clear coat.
@@BetaZXZ Oh dope! Sounds like I’m on the right track then. One last question, how did you keep/ out the details on the 88 mm while painting it white? Did you use a brush or a tooth pick to keep the holes black? Oh, and for the red and the white paints, do you have the names of tones you used?
@@izaiahatil3778 you got it! They were too small to mask up, so i made sure I swiped em up with a toothpick every coat of paint. I used titanium white for the.. white, then a mix of vermilion and crimson tones for the reds!
@@BetaZXZ hey i got my kit and want to paint it and i have a couple of questions. 1. Including the paints listed what all did you use and for what part? 2. How has the paints held up? 3. What was the total cost of the paints? Thank you in advance if your still reading comments know that you have one of the most skilled in interactions with others on RU-vid.
I've seen listings on amazon recently for them, but shin's tend to go quickly/inflated prices I know, recently it's been difficult to find stock for these kits..
this is so well done! I have the kurena/anju variant arriving tonight in the mail and this got me super stoked to try out some weathering. also convinced me I've got to eventually try a diorama, it really elevated things
@@BetaZXZ @BetaZXZ hello again, i finished collecting painting supplies and whatnot and was wondering what color you used for the red. The guide says russet, but I've tried a couple darker reds on test spoons and it looks far too dead. also, what kind of thinner ratio did you work with for your paints, if you used any?
@@old_deluder9372 I used a mix of Crimson Red and Vermillion with a 3:1.5 ratio (roughly) The reds seem lively If you add on a dash of orange on there - hope thay helps!
Kudos for timing each bloop sound with ur text that must’ve took a lot of patience and work (and it adds so much character to the viddy!) wahaha this is so osom betazxz <3 <3 <3
Didn't expect this to get this much reception! Thanks for near 4k views :DD I've added the sheet music in the description - hope it works well enough! As a small plug - my next video will be a build video on Bandai's Shin-Use Reginleif kit with a custom paint job and base! If you're interested in that, hope you can stay tuned in for it!
