Hey great video, I have the same cpu and gpu combo, I’m usually getting 50-60 gpu usage with the cpu overclock that you have and increased the gpu performance as well. Is 50-60 gpu usage normal on a 1080p high quality? Or is there a way to increase the usage to get more FPS? Thanks
In 1080p the one thing that matters is cpu since you definitely have a beast of a gpu, the only thing holding u back is a maxed out cpu and ram at 3800mhz
Consider the fact that usually a too high GPU usage will cause stuttering and high temps on your GPU. The usage doesn't = FPS, it's just saying how much of the GPU is needed to push as many FPS as possible in that scenario. In your case, no matter if you had a 3070, 3080 or 3090 with the same CPU on the exact same game settings, you would get the same amount of frames due to some sort of bottleneck, likely just because you're playing 1080p. You will notice with only 50/60% GPU usage means if you up the resolution to 1440p then you will barely get any difference in frames just a higher GPU usage and higher temps instead. I hope this makes sense and helps.
@@Billy-ky6dm this was very helpful in understanding what usage actually means in my case. Another question I have is since you mentioned that usage doesn’t = FPS then what actually = FPS? Is there any advice on how I can increase from your experience. Thanks
Im using a 3070 with ryzen 9 3900x on rainbow 6 seige and get an average of 123fps. Care to share your settings? I have a 240hz monitor and vsync off so idk what could be holding it back other than a setting bugging it out
Hmm I guess the extra 40 FPS that I got were the RAM frequency difference, or perhaps PBO on? Siege was running on all settings max. I can’t remember if it was OpenGL or Vulkan though
DONT BUY IT NOT DONT BUY IT NOT DONT BUY IT NOW. WAIT FOR PRICE DROP BRO.. all f**** idiots buy it overpriced thats why the prices go up.. 1 year ago the 3070 was round about 500-600€ now its 800€ because everyone bought it because the quarantine
3070 was launched 4 months ago bro. The official MSRP for the Nvidia FE card is at a roughly €550 but it is very hard to find. On the other hand, high quality AIB cards prices usually range from €100 to €500 more compared to FE given the improved cooling system (some even offer water cooling) or much higher than average quality PCB elements, like VRM. So not all of them are overpriced. Only the ebay scalpers ones🙂
Haven't tested it myself but from what I've seen running it on 1080p could get you close to 200 FPS. 1440p not so much but of course all the other components matter as well
I see. Looks like you'll either need to upgrade to a Zen3 CPU and overclock the RAM, or switch to Intel. 3900x is a monster CPU but eventually it shows its single core frequency limits compared to the CPUs I've mentioned above.
Yes, all the RAM sticks that support XMP need it enabled in order to run at their advertised frequency. So it's 2400 MHz with XMP off and 3200 MHz with XMP on for my RAM kit
I highly recommend it, if you get the chance to catch it in stock. In my case the average temperature does not jump higher than 70 - 71 °C during 1440p gaming or benchmarks. But it also depends on your case airflow
@@mesh.creative the rpm is like 1600- 1700, it's going to be a bit noisy, the fe cards could be so much more, they never bother to make fe cards more silent, by simply making the card a little wider and using bigger fans like 120mm, 12cm ones like most of the dual fan MSI cards have
Honestly I never notice fan noise. The fans are not turning on if there is no important graphics activity like gaming or high res video playback. And in case there is such activity the game / video sound is anyways more powerful than the fan noise, so really no issue here
