Those fabrics are surprisingly cute, which already makes the blocks fun and appealing. Then the creative process of building the blocks is really inspirational. Thank you!
Love them all, especially the tiny orange rectangle, also the purple and black it is a nice combo, a bit darker, but I like that. Awesome blocks, I am saving pics of them for inspiration. Happy fall.
Such wonderful ideas! I've been thinking about ways to use Halloween and Christmas scraps....thank you for jump starting me. I especially love the very scrappy and wonky ones you showed first. Boo!!👻
This is a fabulous design. And one of the features that makes it work is the two-toned black. Which makes me think that any dark colour in two tones would be excellent as sashing and decrease its in-your-face intensity. Thank you for the idea!
I don't have a problem cutting up quilts and using them for something else, especially if/when they are damaged. HOWEVER, the 3rd quilt, the one you are considering cutting up is just so striking and cohesive all together that my initial thought was "No! It's so beautiful." But, I have watched enough of your videos Nora, and you do beautiful work and love and respect quilts. I trust you and support you whatever decision you make on that issue. Go with your gut! I also believe things we make, even the best art from the most famous artists, aren't going to last forever. Things are made to be used. Thanks again for your video.
I love those acorn necklaces I love acorns with my granddaughter loves acorns I wanted to have a necklace made for her that says Nana's Little acorn😊 I also made one with a bunch of acorns when I was in art class in school myself and I am 59 years old now.
I think I’m going to try this with triangular elements added to 4 sides to make rectangular blocks; easier to piece together. My blocks are very busy so I might use solid triangles for background elements. Great idea. Thanks for sharing.
❤ this idea. I happen to have that hexagon ruler, and have never used it. I also have hundreds of crumb blocks, so might very well try experimenting with your idea and see what happens.
I have a couple of antique quilts. The binding and edges are really dingy and frayed. I would suggest for that quilt someone replaced a frayed or stained binding and edging.
Nora, I love how you are fearless when cutting into your fabric! You are so creative and I admire your thought process. I am learning so much from you and your videos!
