People who are wondering why this was not introduced in India during time of manual labour ( pre-industrialization ) is 1- less connectivity with Europe, same goes for China. 2- the farmers owned small lands which a family or two would cultivate. And they did not have alternative plans due to deprivity. 3- ban of dangerous tools under British rules, (swords, scythe like stick n blade (gandasa), long daggers) these were banned n confiscated. 4-post independence the harvesters were introduced n rich farmers leap frogged. This however is one among many missed tools, you can find many such in China-Yunnan province. So instead of being glad that it how old tools can still make diff, instead of distributing smart phones, don't delve in putting other down. Circumstance dictate everything. Europeans could not fathom decimal system for centuries and now use it after learning it from Arabs who took it from India. This tool shows many broken chains in basic tool tech.
I'm surprised that a Scythe is not in common use in India. I have a small farm and use the scythe all the time. The scythe has been in use in North America and in Europe for many hundreds of years. Why hasn't the scythe been in common use in India?

@@ZlataKosa It is not known enough in Indonesia. Young people only know it as a weapon from video games or movies. since there is a lot of traditional farmers here, I'm sure scythes would be revolutionary.

Hello. I have a question, how is the quality of Gunas scythes compared to Fux and Falci? I'm especially concerned about the parameters of the blade (especially holding the blade sharpness).
How wonderful that the Minister of Agriculture gave it a try! I have been limited to a sickle and rotary mower in my yard, which is really a meadow. Back breaking! My scythe will be here soon, and I'm so happy, so this video resonated with me. I lived in Austria and have never forgotten the families out with their scythes gathering hay for the cows. Never saw a rake attachment like here, though.
