So is she saying she is friends or lovers with Wayne or whats going in here bc I've heard lil Wayne mention a farm girl with cornbraids in the song Krazy or is this a different reference here...
Introduced to the game when i was just a child Mama love a drug dealer str8 quit her job They took his life and along with him I died she died we died!!! Then came my daughter to my bed side told me daddy dont cry im alive!!!
Im sure Wayne cosigned it but the beat Wayne rapped on had some drums added to it.. Dont forget the producer.. Shit he probably was the one who introduced this song to Wayne.. Rappers get too much credit sometimes when they have a team of musicians backing them
+baconandhex he didn't purchase the music or give Leah any credit whatsoever. He didn't clear the sample. I know this because Leah is a friend of mine and this shit angers me to no end.
I have corn-braids in my hair. Rags are tied to hold them there. Sometimes my daddy makes me laugh. I run with trouble... trouble City streets -- that's where I learned: Play with fire and you get burned. When the heat was on, I turned - Turned to trouble.... trouble And Mama, she's so tired. I ask her questions she can't explain Sometimes my mama eases trouble, But it's trouble, just the same. I have walked a bitter line, Chosen second over cheap wine. Still, I look for brighter times I run with trouble... trouble is my friend. And my Mama, she's so tired. I ask her questions she can't explain. Sometimes, my mama eases trouble, But it's trouble, just the same I am young, but I am wise. All man's pain is in my eyes. That my daddy can't disguise. I run with trouble.... trouble is my friend. If you look closely at the album cover (not the one shown above), you'll see the little girl on the subway train double exposed with a close-up of Leah's face. I am mesmerized by this song -- and the haunting cello in the background. What a great song!! What an amazing artist.
How lovely. I have Don Yowell's recording of this song. I only heard Don after we lost him; his dear friend Michael Callen sent me a top of Don's unreleased recordings and a VHS of a live performance. Then we lost Michael. So many losses. Leah is so talented and so special. It runs in the family.
Music Maven And she was married to the great rock drummer, Russ Kunkel. I've never understood why she only released two albums. Perhaps it was because she wanted to dedicate more time to raising her late sister's child. I've always really loved her voice. You can definitely hear a lot of Cass in her singing. You should listen to the ' Coyote Sisters ' album that she's on. Excellent
Hi VideosForBrian, I would like to chat w/ you about Don Yowell and his music as it pertains to my dissertation topic. I also have a copy of this Leah Kunkel album if you're like a copy. Could you please message me privately? Thanks!
