I've been traveling into and out of LAX for years (since 1991) and IMHO LAX is the biggest building site I know that has its own airport. Every time I go there I am confronted by a massive population of diversions, Jersey barriers and building sites that never seem to have anyone working on them. The diversions also constantly change from trip to trip so that, when you thought you knew your way to a particular car rental company or long-term car park, on the next trip you are on a "magical mystery tour" trying to locate it taking into account the latest set of diversions and your rental car's NAV system not being updated accordingly.
I live in south Orange County, to go to LAX I take the train to L.A. Union Station, then the FlyAway bus to LAX. Stroll into the check in area, stroll toand through security, stroll to my gate and chill. The real hassle is coming back from outside the USA and going through customs. It is far better than it once was. Then FlyAway bus to Union Station, then the train home. It would be great to have Amtrak and MetroLink service the airport directly, like they do everywhere else in the world. Although I have chatted with some interesting people on the bus. The other issue is AeroMexico (international) you have to go NOT to the international terminal, but Terminal 2, then back to the International Terminal for security and to wait for the flight.
as a citizen malaysian and degree holder, my family categorized as B40 which is the pooerest in economical and for the education in malaysia the govt do helped me a lot, as they race to created skyscrapper they also not forgot the malaysians love it🥰

I've lived in the LA area for over twenty years and have only used LAX once, and now avoid the airport like the plague. Other local smaller airports like Burbank, Ontario, Orange County, and even Santa Barbara are a joy to use in comparison. I'd like to make sure that anyone from another country visiting LA for the 28 Olympics to know that you can fly internationally into another big city like San Francisco, Phoenix, Denver, and even Dallas and take a connecting flight into these smaller LA area airports and your travel experience will be a whole lot better than flying directly into LAX !
It’s still a big ole mess. Like a bunch of different architects working solo and glued it together. It’s overpriced, ugly and a monstrous and nightmare of an experience. So frustrating and the layouts are so bad. 14Billion lipstick on a pig 😵💫🫠
Just remember, this is all being designed by civil engineers. Civil engineers are people who flunked out of every other engineering discipline in school and fall into the loser bucket of civil engineering.
Reducing traffic in LAX is easy. Enforce a $500 fine and tow for anyone parked picking up/dropping off. 90% of the traffic is a result of people parked in the middle of the road waiting to pick someone off.
In Anchorage, Alaska they have a parking lot about a mile from the airport that you can park for free while you wait for your party to call when they are ready to be picked up. In the summer the float planes take off right by the parking lot.
@@Chris_at_Home Most airports have a waitng area like this. LAX calls is the cell phone waiting area. No one uses it. You'll see people parked right in the middle of the cross walk waiting for whoever to get their baggage.
@@christopherhiggins2350 Go to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). Compare the total passenger experience to LAX and then ask yourself "what would it take to elevate LAX to the level of SIN?" The answer is not the $14B they will be spending (with much squandered) to get LAX barely ready to handle the Olympics.
Exactly. Have you been there lately? I just landed from Dublin, where we did all our custom and passport check. When we got to LAX, we went straight out.
@@christopherhiggins2350 Have a look at the Conde Nast Traveller or Skytrax polls and you wont see LAX in the top 10. Even the J. D. Power poll of best mega airports in the US and Canada has LAX tied for 12th place.
Doesn't have to be a world class airport. US airlines and by extension US airports are more geared for domestic travel. US airports generally do not have layovers for people going between two different countries. (Going country A to B with a layover in C)
Mexico City new airport the AIFA was one major fail. Not even at 30% capacity. AICM is old but very reliable right in the city! few upgrades will make it look again… ❤ CDMX
@@aerontudor6542 Who says so? You? Surely you are right-wing or misinformed, do you know that the construction of the train that will take you directly to the AIFA is being completed? And that the cargo airlines are happy? And do you know that it is a relatively new airport and that flights will gradually increase? And that Lufthansa will use the airport once the train is finished.By the way, the AIFA has just won an award for being one of the most beautiful airports in the world
I cannot understand who proposes this crazy tunnel. And who should pay it and who want to build it ? If EU money is used for this, it would be much better invested in the Tallin - Helisinki Tunnel. Build completely european. Means european money and european building company.
@@chrome_vlogs Yeah, sure. Moved here in 1953. You do you. Know your LA history before you comment. There is still no Metro rail connection directly into the terminal area. So, at best, you will have a "people mover" to get you to Metro. Good luck with that. World class airports have seamless trans-modal transportation not horrible kludges like LAX.
The trillion-dollar train to nowhere. Maybe we could quit building now, we could still save the environment and make a nice bike and walking path out of it?
