yooo what’s good bruh I’m a new tekken player . I just hit Garyu a couple days ago after playing for like 3 or 4ish months. I have experience in other fighters but none are like this & a lot of my learning experience has been literally learning what moves are mid or low lol. I main Hwoarang & I feel like my worst matchups are Bryan, Steve, Dragunov and Law. For a bit I used to think King was absolutely BS, but after playing for a while it’s really about breaking or ducking them lame ass throws @ low rank. I usually beat most of the matchups I thought were horrible in the beginning, surprisingly Jin I do decent against, but I definitely think that nigga needs to be nerfed fr
The thing about Tekken is every matchup is busted if you don’t know it 😂 but some definitely more than others, good shit on Garyu though, I can just say focus on fundamentals and matchup knowledge over anything else and you’ll keep climbing
@@RunnethTheFade when you say fundamentals, what exactly do you mean? i feel what i think as fundamentals in this game are completely different from the games i come from originally. i’d assume you mean like spacing, what moves punish what and etc etc
@@thraxmysticanot so much punishing because that comes over time with matchup knowledge, but spacing, whiff punishment, sidestepping is a big one to get comfortable with, throw breaks etc
My problem with Reina is that her stances are unusable, everybody is just mashing and playing so aggressively and I'm constantly getting jabbed/launched when I try to do sentai for example
Yeah her risk/reward ain’t great but you just have to really pay attention to how your opponent reacts and apply the counter play, she definitely has the tools to stop mashers
No more hopping from character to character to find a decent main to keep me invested. Tekken 8 officially begins in summer for me. What a day. Love the content man.
I think they changed how quick stand works if you're face-up-feet-away. After the SEN throw, f+2,3 doesn't seem to land anymore. But if they quick stand, df+1 will still hit them with their back turned. I found your video searching for Reina oki, so I figured you’d want the up-to-date tech.
The Sen! 1, 2 string after f2, 3 doesn't seem to be guaranteed, I've set up AI to do this tech as fast as possible, and if I just hold back I block it and Reina is at -16. The base AI though eats up everything, so if you just go for a throw out of Sen! instead after f2, 3 hits it will do a backthrow for 50 damage. But then again none of this is guaranteed, opponent has time to duck/block. It's basically a mix up situation after f2, 3. Not even Sen! 3 hits if the opponent holds downback, in fact it whiffs and you get launched, but then again you could go for mids there.
