I’m going to mountain creek next week for the first time and I’m super excited!! I normally ski, but this time I’m going to try snowboarding, and all I can say is for a beginner you did absolutely amazing.
Try this, grab your pants by your pockets keeping your shoulder stacked over your hips and knees while making your turns. Lots of videos teaching this. Once you get this foundation you will have better control with instant board response while turning. Need this for moguls, tree runs or just small tight area ect.
I love Park City, wish I lived there! Some unsolicited tips for you, if you don't mind... I noticed you keep a lot of your weight on your back leg, which is common when starting out. It did cause you to fall a couple times. Generally you want weight to be even, and some times even more over the front leg. You should initiate turns with your front leg, which is hard to do if your weight is on the back leg. Also, safety > style. I cannot say it enough, helmet helmet helmet. Have fun this season!!
@@kimberlybrookeoutdoors I’m going for the first time in January. Your video was great! We plan to rent a lot of our equipment. Do you have any tips? What should I buy before going to beech mtn?
@@honeybumble6631 thank you! If you’re going to rent equipment just make sure you pick it up the day before because the lines to rent equipment are super long and wastes a bunch of your time on the mountain waiting in line. Also, make sure you get your lift tickets online before you go because the lift ticket lines are long and get sold out quickly. Beech is a great mountain to learn how to snowboard or ski. I learned how to do both on this mountain in one season. Just make sure you are aware of your surroundings while you’re on the mountain because sometimes the runs get super packed and people run into each other.
Hey! I just started snowboarding this season too & man is it a tough sport to learn! Awesome job staying focused. Thank you for keeping in the hard moments, that’s real life. :) I took a lesson at about a similar skill level as you seem right now & it really was a game changer. I was linking turns by the end of the day! Maybe something to consider bc it’s totally friggin worth it :) Anyways, love your videos. Hope to see more content soon 🤙🏼
That’s awesome! And yea it’s a super tough sport to learn but I love it and can’t wait to keep progressing. I actually have another video coming next week when we’re snowboarding in Alaska and I took a quick lesson with an instructor and finally locked down carving. Was a game changer for sure!
