People accusing Snyder of not representing the source material accurately turn around and gush and slobber over James Gunn, who has never made a comic accurate comic character in any film he has ever done. The big Superman complaint is that he killed Zod. Meanwhile Christopher Reeves Superman killed Zod but that is apparently different somehow. Then we have the complaints about Affleck's Batman killing. Meanwhile, every onscreen Batman has killed, except for Clooney I think. But no outcry there. And the fact that Batman has killed in the comics is conveniently ignored. Snyder haters just hate for the sake of hating and jumping on a bandwagon. Then they reach for things after the fact to justify the hate.

The problem with Snyderverse is that he sells it like a Justice League story, but it was a Injustice Story.

Batman v Superman changed my life. Before that I was going to midnight showings of the latest superhero movies and reading up on the background lore of whatever new hero was being introduced. BvS made me ask, "Why?". Why did I care so much? Why did I shift attention from other hobbies to focus on these movies? When Captain America: Civil War was released a few months later, I remember walking out thinking that just six months earlier I would have enjoyed it, yet there was something hollow now. I thank BvS for helping me to break the cycle.

When i watched justice league i assumed that superman was acting weird because coming back to life was like waking up from anesthesia and he just wasn't fully awake yet, and seeing Lois helped to calm him down and snap him out of it a little, but even that doesn't help the movie much

Rebel Moon franchise has potential but I have legit criticisms. This is a far cry from ZSJL. The writing is off: the dialogue is poorly phrased or awkward or SUPER WORDY/VERBOSE. It was after all written by Zack and the writers of 300 (2006). Zack is better at planning out an overarching story but he’s best as director.

Interesting take, more of an opinion piece than review, but still a review. WB should have let Snyder finish his films because people are quiet done with super hero movies. MCU is going down hill fast due to too much stuff, Blue Beetle tanked due to people not knowing the hero or caring, and the new Super man movie will tank just because the main movie goers are bored with Super Heroes. Hopefully it will be a good movie, but if it doesn't make the money, then WB will stop all of Gunn's productions. For that knowledge alone, people who are fans won't be invested. Even if that base is only 30% of the fan base, it's still enough to do damage to the box office and have WB stop productions on the Gunn Universe. Pluss Gunn has way too much stuff coming out that people just won't watch, like the cartoon side and lesser known heroes like Blue Beetle or Booster Gold.

I agree with disliking the Martian “Martha” Manhunter bit. It’s a cool Easter egg sure… BUT given the scene beforehand about human grief and sorrowful mourning between Martha and Lois, the fact that Martha is REALLY Martian Manhunter undercuts that humanized emotion.

They straight up defrauded their audience. The biggest selling point to the game was being a "mutant" having the ability to visibly mutate changing stats throughout the game becoming a creature of your own design, grow wings, grow combat claws ect. this is what they pitched to everyone, very shortly before release they scrapped this and were extremely quiet about it. Now its just a game with cool art design and no creativity to be found beyond that. Every town you capture feels exactly the same, good and evil dont matter, the classes are all heavily unbalanced no system in the game feels complete. Some money man came in late in development and rushed production and absolutely ruined this game which had genuine potential, would be my assumption.

When it comes to characterization I believe a major reason for the characters being off-base is the themes. Your characters should match the themes of the story you are telling. And the Characters present in the Snyderverse are not good choices for the Themes they were trying to convey. But instead of deciding to select a different group of Superheroes that actually match the Themes, or change the Themes to better suit the actual characters, like a logical person would do, they instead decided to warp the characters to suit the themes, which given that these characters are such a bad choice for said Themes, resulted in basically all of them being incredibly off-base from their core. It's one thing to slightly modify a character to better suit a new medium or theme, it's another to essentially write a completely different character and wrap them in an already established character's skin.

Also here's the thing, for people defending it for Realism 1. Dark and Gritty is not the same thing as Realistic. 2. Realism isn't the superior choice in every situation, there are some stories that are best told in an unrealistic fashion.

In BvS Superman says "you don't understand, there is no time". Seven words. "Bruce help, Lex kidnapped my mom" is six words.

The idea that DC is dark and gritty comes from fans who read nothing other than Batman. DC is bright and full of hope. Sure, it has some adult and darker material, but it's not pervasive into the greater universe. Metropolis is optimistic, Superman is a boy scout. To pretend otherwise is just silly. The Snyder stuff is like fan fiction written by an angsty 13 year old.

This game really feels like it SHOULD have been amazing. I loved the idea of it. I liked the art style and the cool comic book FX. The melee combat seemed awesome and the guns were a post apocalyptic mish-mash put together junk. The world trying to heal from the damage humans caused and leaving scars and blemishes. But then, everything you said, was right. It seemed more childish than child-like. The combat became same-y. The story dragged on. The characters were lame, and all of them were SO DAMN UGLY. I wanted to be a cool badass furball but I'm this goofy ugly rat thing and everyone else is just as goofy. The monsters were cool but just a bit "off' in a lot of ways. The narrator I turned off and just read the lines. This game could have been amazing, and maybe a biomutant 2 would be. The ideas were there but the execution was lackluster and underbaked. You're 100 percent spot on

The thing i hate about these movies is that they set up very serious and weighty ideas but are seemingly uninterested in exploring any of them. Iirc there was a quote from snyder about 'how can batman come back from the brink and still be batman?' And yes that sounds interesting but you didnt explore that question at all just like you didnt explain how batman got so bad in the first place or write a satisfying or interesing climax to when he changed his mind on being a vigilante murderer. Even the fucking 'martha' moment doesnt work as hes there in the end credits with his bat brand ready to fuck up lex luthor.

I tried watching ZS:JL a couple of time and I swear It's been a help on my Insomnia. I always manage to fall asleep 30-40 mins watching this slop. I highly recommend this film

I agree with your assessement of die hard snyder fans. I liked the Snyder verse myself and joined facebook cause of this not knowing about Gunn and all the hate. I was appalled at all the hate towards Gunn when I did not see anything he was suppose to have done wrong. Just calling him pedophile cos of some bad tweets he made years ago was way out of order. I spoke up about this and was instantly targetted and banned from some of these sites. I liked the DCEU like i said but die hard toxic snyder taking everything to far and are worse fanbase i ever came across. It has put me off DCEU now sadly. Even though I still like the Snyder DC when I watch them i just reminded of the toxic fanbase. I am looking forward to Gunn and will NEVER BE as toxic as those toxic snyder fans. If something ends it comes to an end and people should appreciate what enjoyment they got from it and not just hate everything that comes after. Even if reiki is only a placebo effect that in itself has been helpful for me personally. I dont necessarily know its its really energy being used but i have found myself being much more relaxed and at ease. Also i have have times when i had a stomach ache and had reiki and it went away...like.i said it may be a placebo effect but it works. Also i have never ever paid any money to anyone for reiki. There are plenty of distance reiki healers that do not charge money for their videos. I disagree with the fact that it has been studied enough. Actually no it has not been studied enough and the studies ive read about i dont feel were very thorough. I would love if they could do more in depth research on this and then make a conclusion about it one way or the other. Leasing and not "SELLING" to platforms like Netflix could be a good avenue for WB to make money while doing nothing but collecting checks. Netflix tried to purchase the ZSJL before to no avail.
