HI Mark, myself, locally, Madison WI, chain, Winneconne chain for numbers as wheel as shots at 4 & 5 pounders. then the Mississippi RV, only pools I really fish are pools 12, 13 in IL and Pools 10, 8,and 7 in WI. always a catch fest. lots of others that are above average but these are my best in the area. good fishing Mike
The lake I’m in up N in MN has thick pencil reeds out quite as ways from shore and wild rice hardly any pads. Water is 71 so does shade matter as much?
"WOW"!! So If I Happen To Get A Performance Build, On An A Engine, For My Car. And they happen to get A Dyno Run. ( They Have Already Broke it in!! ) And Most Manufacture Cars, Broke In Their Engines!! "SO", I Why Should It Be My Responsibility? To Break It The Engine the Engingine In??
Tournament fishing and increased popularity in general are ruining fishing. The thing is, the industry as a whole has an interest in more tourneys more fisherman etc etc. At some point, too many people fishing is a bad thing. Too many people fishing competitively is even worse in terms of crowded waters and pressured fish.
I got these before they were released in the sack subscription. Bait was ruined just trying to figure out how to rig it. Never bought them after seeing the Durability issues others were having
Keep what hair you have left by STAYING OFF SOCIAL MEDIA!!! Build some cabinets, clean some gutters, mow the grass, focus on something more meaningful than social media cancer. I watch a few RU-vid videos, that's it, on topics that are productive. I'm not infected with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or any of the other types of SMC (social media cancer), thank goodness. Your video popped up in my feed, I'm sure, because the algorithm thought I am all of a sudden interested in bass fishing because I watched a video on someone making a fishing rod from start to finish. Now that I clicked on this video, I'm sure I'll be inundated with these kinds of video suggestions. I'll have to spend 30 minute or more clicking "not interested" to retrain the algorithm. SAVE YOURSELF NOW! Only you can prevent the downward spiral into the black hole of SMC.
Don’t really care what happens with these tournaments, just don’t want nobody to get hurt, there is a better way to make a living. I think it’s funny when they do there crying.
Very nice video and you said it within the first five minutes - social media is the problem and yes I realize that I am on youtube but it is the only form of social media that I use. Here is the problem - if you have opposing opinions on something it is inevitably going to go one way or the other and you are left with someone still being pissed off. So what is the solution? I honestly don't know, I guess people are just gonna have to accept that everything is not always going to go "your way" and put on your big boy pants and accept it????
I appreciate your comments. Sometimes I feel like the old man yelling to kids about staying off my lawn but I honestly don’t think enough people these days have “big boy pants”!
Some people are miserable and try to start big arguments in every comment section and some people think their view is the only way everyone should see it so no matter what you will have negative comments if I were you Mark if you see something inappropriate delete it and keep on keeping on! You’re a really good guy Mark and just know nothing said in the comments reflects bad on you.
I can’t give that to you but if you truly watched the entire episode I would say #1. Thank you. And #2 what were your expectations? If it was to hear me dish dirt on these “drama” issues. I can understand why you would be upset. Sorry.
@@markfisheroutdoorsYes I watched the whole thing. Not like it mattered you didn't say anything anyway. It was just a worthless video. Didn't learn anything. Was not entertained at all. It was just blah blah blah. Anyone who follows fishing at all knows that. Now I wasted more time telling why that video sucked. Lol 😎✌️
I don’t have to wade through shit. I don’t watch it or concern myself with it at all. Hell I have a fishing boat but I’ve been spending more time waist deep with swimming trunks, 1 rod and a backpack and I’m having more fun that way.
I think it’s a reflection of today’s society. It doesn’t matter the topic a large portion of the population believes your opinion is flat out wrong if you don’t agree with them. We have to get back to the days where we could agree to disagree.
@@jonbullard7074 I think you’re right. We certainly see it in politics and on other issues and social media then just fans the flames! Thanks for your comment!
It's too bad people are so divided today and don't value each other's opinions or viewpoints. Social media has made us less personable. It's easy to be a smartmouth because people aren't face-to-face. I told my youngest son to imagine going to an art museum and looking at all the paintings and imagining that they were all the same. How boring would life be if everything & everybody were identical. I was a manager of an engineering dept. for many years and valued all the opinions. I would never allow someone on my team to say another's opinion was stupid. If that was allowed, you'd never get another opinion from some of those people. It's sort of a bully-type situation. On many social media sites, half of the comments are from AI bots or foreigners who try to spread false info and divide us. People have no idea what's in store for the future of social media & technology. It's kinda scary.
Toxic Lead use in fishing tackle needs to be discussed. Do people grow up wanting to sell, use and ultimately discard this stuff in our waterways? How did you get wrapped up in it and what are your plans for a better way?
That's a great idea Mark! I bought some of those when they came out and tore a whole bag of them up trying to learn how to rig them. I did take some Mend It to the head of the bait and they were like new. I'll have to get them back out and try the TUSH hook on it. Thanks for the underwater footage.
I’m sure there are a lot of guys that would suffer if it got banned. But to be honest, there are a lot of guys that excel using ffs that have the fishing “chops” to remain successful even without it. Other issues aside, imo, Wheeler is probably one of those guys.
Any experience using them in faster moving river current? Wonder how it would work letting the current spin the blades with hardly moving the lure. I fish inline spinners that way
I don’t have any experience in that situation but I can see it being effective. My first thought was fishing smallies around wing dams on the Mississippi.
I’ve never caught anything on a drop shot. Admittedly I haven’t used it a lot but I have a bait very similar to that I’m going to try. Hopefully my luck will change.
Jon, I’ll tell you, a drop shot in clear water situations is a VERY productive presentation. Not saying the Bellows Gill is my first choice. But I’m playing around with it to see where it fits in when I’m using that technique. Thanks for tuning in!
You have trees that are closer to their Bank met there is hanging over plus you good push you got really pads that they can hire to you got really bad that they can hide under two
I have to totally agree with at least 2 points regarding this topic; I can say AS A FACT that FFS is indeed killing the the sales of other forms of bass fishing baits. one local tackle shop tells me that overall sales have dropped by over 60% and all that they are selling is the FFS style baits. in fact I was PERSONALLY told that this shop will b closing its local location and will keep an online presence as long as they can, but they aren't holding out much hope. second point, nearly every event I have fished in the heat of the summer has killed numbers of fish. I normally go back to the lake that was used for the event and too a TOURNAMENT, there are ALWAYS dead fish floating at, or near, the release points. I cant understand why so many fishermen don't realize that u cant catch a fish in 30-40 or even 60 feet deep and expect them to survive live wells and releases into shallow, sometimes in the upper 90 degree range here in central Texas, that a MAJORITY of those will more than likely die. really sad to c. and one last thing, there was a pro angler that wrote an article in BASSMASTER a yr or so back discussing his witnessing numbers of dead fish all over the lake, Toledo Bend to b exact, after a BASS major event. So PLEADE don't give me the excuse that because BASS release fish from a boat in different parts of each lake that that CLEARLY MAKES NO DIFFERENCE as to delayed mortality rates of tournament fish.
