you can pop the bonnet and you have positive and negative terminal at the front. fit jumper cable to another car or a charged battery and you should be able to unlock and lock.
There is a video on You Tube where a guy pulls the harness under passenger footwell, locates a gray wire and opens the trunk that had no battery and trunk actuator would not work. It happened to me, the body shop had twisted the actuator wires several turns and it would't unlock. Dead battery was out, key port did not budge at all. I used the new battery with a ground wire to seat and power to gray wire. Opened right up and i Installed new battery, removed actuator and fixed after removing and untwisting cables.
this video saved me, my key doesn’t work and i took the battery out to get it tested, so obviously i closed the trunk and then i realized what i had done. I have a 2007 328i and i thought mine didn’t have the cord at first but it’s hard to spot. The cord goes horizontally across the hole so once you get it hooked you’re gonna have to pull the cord through, i just pulled really hard and it came out and my trunk opened up.
Look in the cubby hole. There is a boot lock switch on the right. It's pretty small. That might do it . I eventually found it after pulling my hair out and having multiple specialists including a BMW dealership look at it. BMW wanted to charge me R1400 just to diagnose it.
If the battery is still in the car (even dead), you can use another car to open the trunk by attaching jumper cables under the hood. Used my truck to get the trunk open even though the battery was not giving enough power to even light up the dash. Will not work though if the battery is removed from the car.
Hi sir... I have the same problem with LCi 90. The boot lid just get stuck after i closed it abruptly while it is raining outside. But then when am about to open it... It won't badge... The battery is still operational though... But after you've open it; do you to change the electronic locking mechanism of the lid? Thanks
So in the front in the passage area inside the car , you remove that part and there are cables that open the trunk. Why this information was not online ???? That is what the expert from BMW did and the trunk opened even when there was no battery and the trunk was locked in this 328i 2010 bmw. I wish someone would have mention this method .
Will this work if the central locking is locked though? My battery is flat and the doors are locked. When you unlock the drivers door, the rest of the car stays locked. Also, my bonnet cable snapped to I can’t put power to the terminals under the bonnet either.
@@carcrazyguysa4059 I removed the boot handle (which snapped into 3 bits so don’t do it!) and there was nothing to pull to open the boot. I managed to get the bonnet open and put a jump pack on the terminals which let me open the boot.
Can anyone help me.. Need some advice. Boot locked, won't open, lock sound when pressed, can't gain access from back seat as the release buttons are on back in the boot. How do get into the boot to open boot.. Bmw 218d m sport 2015?
I'm in the same boat with my BMW 3 series F30 2014. If I were to apply 12v to the trunk relay of BMW 3 series F30 (2014), would it open the boot? Or would the actuator also need a separate 12v to it? I can access trunk release relay cables by unclipping it from its housing by the number plate which then exposes the two wires going into it -positive (grey and yellow) and negative(brown). I'm currently unable to access the boot because the battery is dead. Jump starting via battery terminals in the engine compartment hasn't worked either.
@@piscean81 I had to drop the back seats by going from inside with two metal rods I got and prized apart seat in the cap. Then pushed the seat release latch to drop the seat. Then I took the panel off to expose the lock and release lock switch to open it.
