Only thing that worries me about this is it probably makes the bow that much more fragile. Now you could cave in the bow more easily if you hit a rock and sink the boat. Id permanently encase that in another compartement watertight cabinet to remedy that. So if you crush the bow youll just list a bit.
It is drilled above the stem. Which is essentially the backbone of the boat. Then it is glassed to the hull on the inside and outside and to the stem which basically makes it another bulkhead. If anything it adds more structure.
I’m gonna try this. I almost took the covers off like you mentioned.. my issue is that I had my seats in the down position for very long and now when I try to set them upright, they won’t lock in. So if I brake semi hard they come slamming back down. Thanks for the tip and hopefully I don’t have to take the covers off resolve this.
I'm a fan of fluid film type sprays. Learned about them in the marine industry I work in. Anything that seizes up or squeaks on my Jeep gets hosed with it.
I once drilled into a $450,000 bus to install an awning with the customer watching. He was extremely satisfied with the results. I was nervous as hell because you can never undrill a mistake. Well done.
Just think of how quickly that would be if that were a bayliner..... Actually probably the hardest would be would be a Chris craft commander from the sixties
Mate nothing wrong with abayliner go into a marina shed were they are all stacked up,every 3rd boat is a Bayliner ,most sold boats in the world ,same company make searay ,have U ever had one .
@@concreter6832 lol nice boat on a pond. They literally fall a part. Junk. They had such a bad reputation They changed the name to Meridian. Sea rays are mediocre boats at best. All throw aways . a good mass production boat? Viking, Bertram, Intrepid , Tiara
@@bertram46 so have U had one ,why are they the most sold boats ,they may be cheaper ,they are affordable entry level boats, nothing wrong with cieras bayliner trophy ,all boats are throw away if U don't do up keeping, and why are there so many bayliners in boat storage sheds ,if 1 of something is so popular of course you are going to have haters ,they may not be for offshore or best fishing boat ,all round good boat ,owned 3 last 30 years, will always have one ,and tried others , bayliners good value and check out the depreciation on them for resale , very good .
@@bertram46 how long until my 02 ciera2455 ,starts to fall apart,I think that bayliner has the biggest forum on line ,(bayliner forum ) read how many people are in it ,cost is not always best ,have u had one ? or are u just a bayliner hater.and they had a bad reputation before 1996.and have improved there structure , own 1 before u knock it.
Mate abow thruster is handy on any boat over 25 foot ,with a single engine,a bit easier with 2 engines ,and depends if U can afford one ,have U tried a bow thruster?
@@noway57 yes mostly,, you have to grind a taper into the glass on both sides (inside and out at least 4 inches around the hole to accommodate for all the fiberglass mat that is used to laminate the tube that goes across the holes . the outside part isn't too bad, but on the inside its almost always next to impossible to access, so you often have to both grind and laminate (in a hurry) by feel. It didn't help that the company I worked for treated their people like meat though
Just so people understand, the guy is dressed in the Tyvek suit because once that hole was cut he was going to have to do a ridiculous amount of grinding and glassing… to put the tube in..
If anything it has added structural integrity. I had a hand in building this hull and there is no lack of integrity. The tube is glassed to the hull on the outside and inside making it even stronger now. Like welding a tube through a box frame.
@@rogerdavies2041 From your answer it is clear you have no idea about structures and engineering. They are making a hole, breaking the fiber in a point where the integrity of the structure is key in case of collision.
Everyone talking about 30' boat not needing a bow thruster.. mostly not but if your slipping in a marina or pier and the wind is blowing away from the dock then yeah its pretty nice... especially if your alone or no dock workers... its his money, break out another thousand
A bow thruster on a 31' boat 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 The only thing funnier would be if it was a power boat rather than a sailboat. Please tell me some clown put a bow thruster on a 31' powerboat.
