Hey everybody! My names Andrew and it’s been a long time dream of mine to start a fishing RU-vid channel. Fishing has been a passion of mine since I was still in a stroller and between my dad and RU-vid, I wouldn’t know near what I know today. I decided to make this channel to help others learn what I’ve learned and to also watch me learn along the way.
The name RAG Florida Fishing is for Reel As It Gets, and obviously I’m in Florida and I’m fishing LOL. I want this channel to be as transparent as possible, showing my great days, decent days, and the days I get skunked.
I hope you all enjoy these videos, and anything I use I’ll let y’all know in the video description and will happily read all comments and answer any questions! Enjoy and tight lines!!
@@emmanuelrivera7083 very nice! I definitely want to travel a little and explore new places to fish and learn those areas! I’m sure the same techniques will work! Thank you again for the support, means a lot!!
it takes some time to get the hang of it but its super effective!! Practice practice practice!! Set the hook with the line, not with the rod and always point the rod toward the line when stripping! Tight lines!!
Great job on the fly. You need to slow down your casts you are losing all of the energy. Watch a video on double hauling on you tube and strip setting. When you hook your first tarpon on the fly , you will never want to catch them any other way. Thanks for the video.
Talking about the heat OMG I snook fish from 5:30 a.m. till 9:00 a.m. hell it was 85 over here in Apollo Beach at 4:00 a.m. in the morning crazy hot LOL like to fly
@@CDFootballGaming sure is! I rinse it off really well after each trip. I look at it as chances are it’ll last just fine. If not, those saltwater trolling motors are ungodly expensive, even if I have to buy two freshwater ones it’ll be almost the same
not sure if you've tried them or not, but i love keeping those mayan cichlids, especially in brackish water. they taste great, a lot like the mangrove snappers.
@@RAGFloridaFishing if you get any with orange meat, that just means they were eating a lot of shrimp. Also that snook you were wondering about was a Swordspine Snook, pretty sure its the rarest kind.
My friend and I made the trip down there last year to Stuart and stopped at Snook Nook for croaker. Didn't get any bites but were fishing from shore and bridges. I want to bring my jon boat down there and try again.
Hell yea brotha! Try them and live shrimp pending the time of year you come down! Shrimp you’ll get snook, tarpon, mangroves, jack! They didn’t have shrimp today since it’s been so hot their supplier couldn’t get them. Let me know when yall come down and I’ll give you as much advice as I can!
Yes! Bigger isn’t always better! Growing up bass fishing I learned it’s not always the size of the bait. I’ve caught 8-9 lb bass on the smallest worms and lures I had. All depends on what they want. Not biting big? Try small!
@CharlotteHarborFisherman I grew up fishing a 4 inch worm Texas rigged and caught MONSTERS! Beetle spins are awesome too!! Strike king I believe makes a small spinner bait between a full size and beetle spin that worked awesome and the hook was a little stronger!
@@ShowtimeMitchh wow man thank you so much I really appreciate that!! Means a lot! Share the channel with buddies if you can! Trying to just let people see what it’s really like out there, honest opinions, realistic gear, real struggles lol
Hey, obviously you haven’t been fishing too long. I’ve lived in Everglades city for 45 years and if you ever want to learn how to work a Topwater you’re doing it absolutely wrong. You need to work it out at least 8 feet from the mangoes mangoes and probably learn how to walk the dog first before you throw top water you’re horrible
