One of the biggest lessons the world esp potential allies do take from Vietnam, is that the US left their own returning soldiers behind. We should never have been there in the first place, like other places we've been since Korea. South Vietnam would still be South Vietnam if the politicans had stayed out of the military's business. You cant win a war with both hands tied by politicans and staying out of Laos and Cambodia while the NVA continued to cross into and use both country's to their advantage. The bombing of North Vietnam should have never been stopped either.

I feel ashamed that the government kept them hold for long time and was put to prison just for the justification of passing the linear border for fishing. Although there is a miscommunication of language barrier, we filipinos should be more understandable and show compassion towards to our brothers in neighbor country. The government should also support on other ethnicities that chose to stay in the Philippines as their second home. Refugees should be given and granted rights for businesses since they did stayed in the Philippines for a long time. Our vietnamese brothers and sisters values us as their co-family and help each other in times of any dire situations and hardships...

This place is not where most of the Vietnamese refugee stayed in Palawan. Most stayed at the camp nearby, which has been converted to a military base. Vietville was created in the late 80s for the remaining Vietnamese who for one reason or another was not sponsored by another country.
The Vietnamese government still claims to have independence, freedom, prosperity and happiness, why -> Today there are still Vietnamese people crossing the border to escape to other countries in many ways such as: studying abroad, traveling, marriage, exporting labor, ..... ?
Tui cũng từng ở trên đảo nầy từ cuối năm '80 đến giữa năm '81 rồi đi Mỹ. Thành thật mà nói, mình cũng cám ơn chính phủ Phi cũng như người dân đã cho đồng bào mình tạm trú chỉ tiếc là 1 số bà con bị kẹt lại. Mến chúc bà con cố gắng vượt qua được những khó khăn và vui sống với cuộc sống hiện tại.
