Thanks so much for this Dave! . Ive got 330k on my lil fiesta and never knew about this. Having said that. i have had to get the ECU repaired. And just now did my head gasket after some overheating problem although it appears it was just a failing water pump so it was probably unnecessary to do the whole head etc... although i do notice improved performance now. Another problem has arisen though. The speedo and odo are not working....I went through the tests as you have indicated...but well not even sure what to look out for... Any idea would be really helpful and grateful! . Thank you . Laurence
Check the Speed sensor harness where it plugs into the Transmission. On the harness there are three wires at the connector. The violet wire is to the Power Hold relay. Chech that these wires have not shorted out or are not broken
The Keys for the 2003 are coded directly to the Computer box (The Larger unit - 2002 to 2007) and not the key reader. These key readers have an eight pin connector. The smaller Computer box, the keys are coded to both the key reader and the computer box (2008 to 2012)
Hi Dave. Just wanted to ask, if the immobiliser warning light doesn't flash anymore, what could the problem be? Car is cranking, there is fuel but no spark
Does the PATS LED still work ? Has the Immobilizer been bypassed ? Do you still have the key reader in ? Check for a short circuit in the starter relay or the started relay has been grounder out.
Interesting! Bantam starts first time, misses intermittently, stutters and then... sometimes run 100% and goes like a well oiled... Bantam Slow moving traffic... stuttered, died, towed, 2 hours later, started but kept on stuttering... 1.3L 161k km... fairly new coil pack Do the injectors need maintenance of any kind?
No, Injectors dont need maintenance. The the HT leads and the spark plugs in the Rocam engines 2002 to 2007 should be set at 1.00mm and from 2008 to 2012 at 1.3mm. Check also the three pin connector at the harness thgat plugs into the coil. There could be an open circuit right on the connector plug. If it switches off and does not crank, keep an eye on the Immobilizer warning light. Tjhis could also be the computer box that needs repair .(Had a few of these)
@@xaviersandrinedemay6396 Thank you! Turned out to be fuel pressure regulator... got stuck somehow and flooded the motor... sorted now R180.00 later...
