Discover new electric bikes, see hands on demos and reviews, get feedback on which ebike is best for you!
With new ebikes hitting the street every day, this is the best way to get a taste for what's out there and ask questions. I review comments regularly, other subscribers also jump in and the bicycle manufacturers and business reps have been known to swing by as well ;)
Whether you're new to the ebike scene, a veteran hunting for the latest and greatest or a confused lookie loo, there's always something new to see at Electric Bike Review.
And people seem surprised that all levels of government are beginning to add new laws to the books regarding e-bikes. Abuse it and the crackdown rules will follow.
Beware - Ride1Up has really poor product support. Installation manual for the Roadster 2 Gravel was for the wrong bike, online videos also for the wrong bike, and after 5 months of mild riding both brakes are terrible. I contacted them, they said they don't cover normal wear and tear (5 months!) and then sent me a link to Amazon to buy new brake pads. Not exactly the support I was hoping to receive. Very disappointed.
well ..my Schwinn mountain bike has a freewheel...for a fact. i wonder if my specialized ( forget which model maybe a comp) has a cassette or free wheel...i Believe it doesn't...becusse its not very loud ..i hear mountain bikes, clicking very loudly..i believe those have a cassette, but i could be wrong ...
It's crazy to me these days that companies can sell all these products and not even offer up a 1-800 number for any customer concerns! Such a weird world that we live in these days!
I am looking to purchase my first folding e-bike. I’ve only ridden the Go Cycle G4 and I love it but don’t want to spend the money. Need to stay under $2500. I’m looking at this, the Blix Vika X, London Citizen and the Carbo X. I’m looking at all of their upgraded models. I don’t want fat tires and I want a torque sensor. Also want at least 55nm of torque. What would recommend that would perform closest to the Go Cycle G4?
Love watching your detailed reviews. Have you considered reviewing the Aima Santa Monica as a comparison? I test rode all three Aima models and was impressed with the overall quality of the bikes. The Velotric looks like a great choice too.
Thanks! We have not seen the Aima models yet but i took a look and they have some nice models as well, hopefully we can get some our way to share with you!
I’m still waiting for a cargo-friendly 2-seater, but with a mid-drive for better weight distribution and torque. I don’t like the exposed gears. Belt instead of chain would be even better.
Loved the section which provided the mechanic's input (the rest if the review is good too!). Is that a new feature? It should be in every review. Nice!
The suspension seatpost is not optional as you stated...it comes standard (no extra charge). I guess it may be optional if you want to delete it, but I'm not sure if they'll take 100 bucks off the price though!
I don't understand your comment "The seat post can go from 23 in. to 29 1/2 in". Where is that measurement taken from exactly? On Euphree's website they provide Minimum & Maximum seat height, which is given as 34" to 42", respectively.
Pretty nice bike. However, a correction is in order. This is not a class three bike. As a matter of fact, it does not fall under the definition of a e-bike in any state that I am aware of. it is unclassified. Many brands are doing this and it is going to cause some problems for People down the road. Just as a quick example of the type of problems we will be looking at. If you were to be in a bike lane and get hit by a car while riding this. You would actually get a citation and be considered partially at fault because you’re not allowed to have it in the bike lane. Again, I am not trying to discredit this bike. But the bike enthusiast need to get a lobby and group started to advocate or we will go the same direction as the three wheeler motorcycles went back in the 1980s. All sales banned.
@@stevendonovan9762 in every state that I am aware, class three does not have a throttle. The bike industry has pushed this out as though class three because it’s higher than class two encompasses it but if you look at actual state law, class three, as I said in almost every state that I am aware, has no throttle. It is pedal assist only. It is only the class two bike that has a throttle and of course they are not giving any assistance over the 20 mph. I really do think it’s a nice bike, but I also think this industry is shooting itself in a foot with some of its practices.
Great reveiw Mike, having used e-bikes in the past with a Bafang motor, they are ultra reliable, 90nm is brilliant for the price. Also great to see the NCX seat post. Keep up the great work, thanks for taking the time to review the e-bike.
Great points and thanks for the kind words! I totally agree, this bike not only looks good but it also rides really nice and has all the power I would want. - Mike
@@ElectricBikeReview you are most welcome. As a long time cyclist (32 years) I've had my fair share of bikes and e-bikes, both hub and mid-drive motors. Bafang is one of the worlds largest sellers of e-bike motors. For the price of the motors and the torque, they really do represent great value for money. Incidentally, I have purchased 2 e-bikes after watching reviews in the past on this channel, namely the Cube SUV Hybrid Race 500 and the Harley Davidson Serial 1 RUSH/CTY. Both automatic gearing from Enviolo, mid-drive and great torque, I'm 56, so need all the assistance I can get these days :)
Really?, maybe you could do your own channel on electric bikes then, see how you get on, I won't hold my breath. Given Mike has taken over the channel, cut the guy some slack eh, it takes time to hone your presentation skills and scripting to engage with your audience.
I had a software update on my Haibike with a Bosch motor and an Intuvia control. Since then, I'n not happy with the "Sport" mode as it seems almost exactly like "Tour". Does anyone else have this issue? Thanks for any help.
