I see this is an older video. I am trying to find comparisons for diamond painting kits. I have not gotten much of a feel of whether or not Temu paintings are comparable in quality to medium or high end kits.
I am working on a Disney diamond painting as well as cross stitch latch hook and colouring. I’m doing all the things! I don’t know Gemma but hello to all.
Sorry I missed you Wanda, no idea why I forgot. Think the heat here is making me forgetful, on holiday next week so depending on if I’m asleep or not I’ll catch you. Favourite sweet icy cups as a kid, dark chocolate terrys choc orange and toblerlone are my faves right now x
Glad to have you here, Claire! Welcome. I assume you know Gemma. Hope to see you on the Facebook page sometime. Enjoy. What are you working on right now?
We got Auroa Australis here in Australia I think in the Eastern states and I think something the same happened in West Aussie as well. Didn't see it personally though.
Boogers! I hear they last for a few days at a time. Maybe tonight. Makes sense that you get them on the nights we don't. Supposed to come back around again for a second round soon. I hope to see them then.
I don't understand your question. Is it for the kit manufacturers or me? Sometimes I cut the original sealed packs from drills that I open as I use them when I pour the leftover drills into baggies. It helps me identify the kit and the sequence number (any identifying info from the packaging) that it comes from in case, when I get to the end, I miss a few drills of that color. I can then go back and fix it easily. Does that answer your question? I hope so. Thank you for the comment.
I think I held my breath through the entire video. WOW! 🤯 Excellent presentation of facts that we all needed to hear. I agree with all the comments I’ve read and for me -it’s age. My stash will outlive me. When I croak my kids will get a big dumpster and throw out all my craft supplies. 🤦♀️I used to make mini albums. I gave away over 50 of them and have 50 more in totes in the basement. Sigh. Here’s how the crafty life cycle worked for me: scrapbooker➡️cardmaker➡️mini album maker➡️junk journaler➡️diamond painter➡️etsy Destash shop. Luckily I have a very understanding hubs who doesn’t say a word about any of my expenditures ❤Great video. I’m sure I’ll rewatch it. I’ll definitely share. New subbie.
@@WandasWorkbasket it’s called Diamonds and Dobermans. I’m seriously too old to know how to create a link 🤣 Someone showed me once but I forgot. It’s a nice little shop if I do say so myself. I’ll check yours out right now! Hugs 🤗
I purchase 100% of my kits from DAC. I've been diamond painting for 3 years, and I do not plan to stop any time soon. I have 1 in my stash that I'll never do. It's Island Life. It's beautiful but too much brown for me.
The particular decks you've showcased are all knock offs. You should be able to find most of them if not all of them on Amazon or the original publisher's site. . I have a couple of the ones you showed. If there are any guidebooks with temu decks, you have to scan the QR code on the back of the box in hopes that it will send you a digital manual. For most , it usual doesn't. a couple of the decks you've shown originally come with an actual physical guidebook. Gabrielle bernsteins is just affirmation cards and she usually does not include guidebooks with her decks, but the original cards are bigger and they come in a two piece box.. Her decks were based off books she wrote. Temu does have a few decks or so that are not knocks off, but if you're new you may not know which one's they are. IN any case though, I love these hauls. Most people I know don't realize their counterfeits, but it happens.
Thank you for the heads up. I had no idea about the knockoffs. I value purchasing from the original when I can. I believe the original artist deserves the payment for their creative work.. Again, thanks for letting me know. I am new to these card packs.
The company is located in New York. Once you place an order, they have it shipped from China. Expect it to arrive almost a month later. This is unexceptable.
Yes, it's frustrating to wait so long for an order when we have places that ship instantly. Back in the 70's you had to wait 4-6 weeks for anything to arrive. I guess I'm patient with some things because I grew up used to it.
Sorry for the little echo. We are fixing that for next week. Also - I forgot my Sally Star ending! So I'll post it now - Wishing you all Love, Luck and Lollipops! Love you all. (blows a big kiss). See you next week.
We live in a society of supply and demand. If the price is high, buyers must have disposable income in order to afford them. Buying second hand is risky. Most diamond painters have limited time to work on a painting, so quickly accumulate a stash which can take a year or longer to complete. I purchase mainly from the U.S. As far as shopping overseas goes, I purchase from them as I seek out artwork I cannot find anywhere else. I enjoy Asian landscapes, buildings, cherry blossoms, and koi. I get large, high quality artwork and kits. Supply, Cost, and Demand will determine the future of any craft.
I am just about to start this one tomorrow or more likely the day after. I agree with you on just how stunning it is! I just can't wait to get started, but I have some de-kitting and cleaning up to do from the kit I finished today first, and it looks like Countryside Cottage has A LOT of drills so it'll take some time to kit it up too. I'm making it for my bf, so I'll have to keep trying to hide it under a sheet so he doesn't see it till it's done. LOL And it fues look like itk take a while to complete. Si hopefully I can keep it a surprise till it's done. He does know I am making him one, but I don't want him to see it till it's complete 🙂
@WandasWorkbasket thank you..I was using g an exacto knife but was told to put tape on the back plastic and they will pull right off! It worked! Thanks again
Thanks for showing the different pens. Wish we could see how the wax/putty gets put into pen. Not sure I like you have to twist. Due to medical reasons in my wrist/hand.
I'm going to have to resort to only purchasing small DP-ing projects as the larger ones I used to do are now becoming too costly. I really am obsessed with the craft as I live alone & not involved in any other groups or activities & it's my "escape" outlet. I've only been DP-ing for the past 4-5 years & it's the best therapy & relaxation craft I've ever taken up. I even went to the trouble of live demonstrating the craft at a couple of craft shows. Many people were simply fascinated by how it's actually done. I hope & pray DP-ing never dies out!
I agree! I hope it never dies out. If my stash is any indication, and I know I'm not alone, many of us have enough put by to last a lifetime even if we can't get new ones. Plenty to destash to others too (see my Etsy shop). It is a great therapy and de-stress activity, for sure. So glad you found us.
What a fantastic video! You touched on so many pertinent points. I only started diamond painting at the end of 2023. Yes, I have a stash, but I stick to particular themes (cats - but only black or Maine Coone because they are the cats who live with me), Harry Potter, Disney - one castle and several princess silhouettes, dragons, some florals and a couple of landscapes. I am retired so have plenty of spare time and also suffer from mental problems. I have tried every type of therapy and only diamond painting has worked. I find it absorbing and calming. I only do budget paintings and the maximum size for me is 40 x 40. I do not have the space nor inclination to do anything larger. I also stick to round drills as I have arthritis in my right hand and find squares too fiddly to lay down correctly. I currently have all the paintings I want/need now and all are neatly stored. When I complete one it either goes in my A5 portfolio or a frame/poster hangers. I think one of the things I enjoy is being able to regularly alternate what I display so my completed paintings all get displayed at some point. What I'm trying to say is, just because a painting is completed, it doesn't have to be put away, never to see the light of day again. Change them around. Have fun. Be creative - add some ABs or crystals to your kit if you like how it will look. However, as you so rightly point out, it's ok to put it aside if you're not feeling like it on a particular day. Read a good book, take a walk, do another craft you enjoy (I crochet, but mostly in the winter months). Do what makes you happy and don't feel pressured into buying up-market kits you can't afford or belittled by certain sites which wax lyrical about their expensive, huge paintings. You do you! ❤
I love your response and thank you. Great tips included! It is great therapy, calming and de-stressing. In my latest video I showed, at the end, a foamy pen that really helps when hands hurt. It might work for you. I found it on Etsy. Again, thanks for the great comments and tips. Welcome to the Workbasket Divas.
Just watched the replay it was great.....kind of a classic Lucy move with the microwave...lol...it was great..and then I almost fell off my chair with your mulberry story... when I was a kid I made mud pies at the end of the driveway ..and threw them at cars till one guys had his window down and I got him on the side of his head....he stopped and I got in a world of trouble....lol....have a great weekend
