Absolutely adorable! I’ve never worked with this is it modeling chocolate, sugar paste, fondant? Can u use regular gel paste to color it? Does it set rock hard? TIA 😘
Hi, sorry I have only seen this now. It's saracino modelling paste this, it's great to work with as it holds its shape. Yes you can colour it with gel colour, I colour all my own. It sets firmly but not dry rock hard if that makes sense x
I use sugar glue to attach and I usually add it straight after making it so it’s still a bit flexible and easy to attach and ‘bend’ a little on the curve of the cake
Hi, I used to stock them but I can’t source someone to actually make me more. I am trying to find another supplier as the last one was exceptionally unreliable
I had them made for myself to stock, the company doesn’t make them to sell so I don’t have a link to share I’m afraid. I have the designs but can’t course someone else to produce them for me to stock again
Hi Shereen, you are clearly very talented. What brand fondant do you use for your cakes? Also, would you consider teaching how to decorate a cake face to face?
Hello! I use renshaw flower paste for my roses and Saracino modelling paste for all my decorations, yes I do teach classes 1:1. Just pop a message over to me on my fb page and we can arrange a date and theme facebook.com/shereenscakesandbakeslowerstondon
Good morning 😊 as much as I’d love to, it can be so tricky with postage as things can get damaged in transit, which I have had issues with before, no matter how well I package them x
Hello! I loved this tutorial, thank you for sharing. Could you tell me what colour modelling paste you used for the fairy’s arms/legs etc please? Thank you!
How does your fondant stay so nice? Mine will start cracking or not hold detail well. I can’t find that clay like consistency. I’ve tried with just a bit of tylose, no tylose and made gum paste. It just doesn’t hold up while I work with it
@@shereenscakesandbakes3258 thank you! I’m gonna see if I can find it. I love making 3d fondant characters for my cakes, but it’s so frustrating when it begins to crack.
@@bish_puddin I use renshaw flower and modelling paste for my roses. If you can’t find Saracino modelling paste, you can try making your own, I made my own for about 10 years before finding Saracino. You mix 250g sugarpaste with 1 teaspoon of either CMC powder, tylose powder or gum tragacanth (I preferred gum trag but it is the more expensive option)
@@shereenscakesandbakes3258 you are incredible! I was able to find the Saracino here in Florida at a local cake shop😁 I just did a nurse graduation cake with a bunch of 3d decorations and let me say… Thank you thank you thank you!! This stuff is awesome. It was a night and day difference and now I’m looking forward to more 3d decorations which is what it will be reserved for.
Shereen can you tell me do I need to let the petals dry for a while before I put them on rows 4&5 petals your roses are so gorgeous but mine flop down 😢 thank you advance love from Australia 🇦🇺
Hi Deb, apologies for not replying sooner. I tend to do liken 4-5 roses at a time so the petals do set a bit between layers but are not fully dry no. I prefer renshaw flower paste as it does dry faster and hold shape much better. Try not to use too much glue or pinch the bud too much as that can also cause the petals to flop back x
Thank you Shereen I really enjoy your tutorials I want to give the little fairy a go I’m hoping as a beginner I can do it you make it look so easy thanks again
Thank you I love watching what you make nice simple instructions I’m a beginner and fine you easy to follow do you have a cat 🐈 tutorial I could follow please my little daughter has asked for pussy cats all over her cake I hope it’s easy to make 😬 thank you so much love love your work
Hi, so sorry only seeing comments now 🤦🏻♀️ I don’t have a link, I got it off Google ages ago and just saved it on my computer but if you email me on cakes_and_bakes@hotmail.co.uk I can send you a copy x
Hi, yes I actually first attach the empty icing wrapper to an iced cake board with some royal icing so it's in place and then put the cake in the 'wrapper' to then go on a cake stand x
Hi, I’m so sorry I only saw your comment now. No, I buy this modelling paste ready to use. I used to make my own but adding cmc to sugarpaste, mix 250g sugar paste/fondant with 1 teaspoon of cmc
This is so adorable!!! Thank greatly for you wonderful tutorial. I am using right to to make Gonks. I love you Rainbow Gonk cake. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. I love the Bunny Gonk!!!
