Cold Start has a little, then there's a specific RPM where it's noticeable again. Wouldn't worry about a child having any problems with it. I sold this car over a year ago now for the Type R but I don't recall it being annoying. I personally thought the whole system was a little quiet.
Hey man, I really liked your video. I'm just curious, when you ordered the parts from kitsch-bents website, there are only 2 parts available for the N64 controller. The "clear sticks" part, and the "gears" part. So, are the bowls included when you purchase the "gears" part? (I hope that makes sense) Lol Basically, when you buy the gears part, did the bowls that the gears sit in/on come with them?
The bowls just went up for sale. I've been waiting for the bowls to go up because his shipping is $5.00 regardless if you buy 1 part of 5. So i'm just going to get all of them at 1 time.
I didn't buy the bowls when I got mine. Just the parts. Mine stick quite a bit still, so I think I need to open them back up and add some lube on the moving parts.
When you used the razor, what parts did you exactly shave down to make it operate smooth?, and what did you do at the end to tweak it and make it basically perfect? Did you have an issue using the OEM stick even though there was all that plastic dust wear? I want to do the exact same setup you've done.
Where the black gears sit in the white bowl. No pressure, just gentry run the razor edge around that cam to ensure it's smooth. The OEM stick itself was okay, the new bowl and gears bring it up to the proper height, my stick wasn't worn down but my bowl was. I finished everything off with a grease called Krytox. It's rather expensive but it's readily available to me. Applying a little bit of grease to the cams, bowl, and where the gears mesh together (not where they ride on the optical wheel) will help prevent breakdown in the future. I hope this helps!
Thanks dude! Definitely helps, I'm gonna give this a shot. Did you do anything to the original gears when you swapped them into the new bowl or do they just slide right in?
@@retr0_amp I replaced mine with the new kitsch-bent stick, but I don't like the look, so I'm going to switch it back, I think. My problem is that it is still really sticky when moving it from side to side. I may need to try the razor, but also apply some grease/lube. I bought some called Super Lube, which was recommended to me on a N64 FB group. We'll see how that goes. Great video though!
