The team of blacks and the onland hitch, not something we have here in Canada where I live. Personally I'd be ashamed to have someone lead my horses, I'd stay at home and learn to drive before venturing out in public, and the rope reins, omg. I'd at least slurge on a decent set of lines to make a tidy crisp presentation. NOBODY uses hardware store rope for reins where I come from lol.
Hello, I work on the show Saving Lives at Sea. We're interested in using a small portion of this video in our show, would you be happy for us to do so? Let me know if you're interested! Thanks
Very nice plowing and great horses, but why are the horses hitched so far away from the plow? And the horse on the right side is not walking in the furrow. Is that intentional?
I learnt to drive on my Granda's grey Fergie, I was about 10, I had to jump off the seat to use the brakes and clutch. At 14 I was driving a Massey Ferguson 165 at the tatties, my first professional driving job!
I have looked at this movie often, and each time it gives that romantic, but also realistic impression of coming home after a day at sea, in the wild, having been exposed to the elements. I am sure that the skipper and his crew shared a well-deserved drink after mooring the boat safely in the harbour. Cheers!
Thanks for posting Piper races. Recently learned of these boats from Sailing Anarchy. A guy in the San Francisco Bay area found a neglected one and just finished getting it going again. Love them. I've been racing Shields 30 one design off and on for 35 years, so these resonate.
I'm not impressed by the finished job seeing as how it's supposed to be match ploughing. The driver should have set the rear disc coulters a little deeper to ensure a clean furrow wall was obtained.
