Wander profoundly, travel deeply, surrender wholly or don't go at all...
Are you ready to take the Road Less Travelled?
Road Less Travelled is about experiences and destinations off the beaten track. When we allow ourselves to get lost and wander, we stumble upon unique places, people and cultures that change our lives and help us gain a greater understanding of life and the world we live in.
Here you’ll find videos from incredible destinations capturing the beauty and chaos of our world.
So, sit back, relax and prepare for an inundation of the senses, the mind and the soul. We’re Ben, Jenny and little Lilly, a family taking the Road Less Travelled and sharing our experiences in words and images from all over the globe.
I dont know if i would say denarau is a good representation of fiji, the beach is awful but the resorts are nice. Go to the islands for picture perfect fiji 👌
@@RoadLessTravelledBlog oh good! That’s what we booked for a family of five too - how did it work with breakfast? Because the room only allows four ppl? Thank hou
We didn’t, but most people we met there didn’t either. Looks like a great golf course but the resort without that is still top class so it’s not so much a factor… I think it likely started as a golf focused resort but has since evolved from that… I’m also pretty sure my golf is rubbish these days so not a bad thing we didn’t play 😂
Hi, you can just hire it from the boat for both destinations. If you’ve booked a tour then the snorkelling gear is included. If you’re just taking the boat to go there (like Fitzroy Island) you can also hire the gear from the boat. I think it was free or we paid a very small fee.
What a great review my family and I just watched. You honestly should be sponsored. Great filming, love the drone footage, very well done mate, you have a great family. We are going next week with 2 kids 9 and 5 and finally got my daughters passport passport today a week out! You were very thorough and detailed which made it a pleasure to watch. Thank you for the great review 🤙
Hi Ben, thanks for watching and for leaving such a nice comment. Enjoy your trip next week! The kids will love it! My daughter in the video is 8 and we couldn't get her out of the pool the whole time. Glad the passport came through in time. There's a massive post-covid backlog on processing them at the moment. Safe travels! :)
@@RoadLessTravelledBlog enjoyed the video thoroughly. Next time try the Island resorts outside Nadi, the Yasawas ( shoot location of first Blue Lagoon ) or fly North to my island of Vanua Levu/Taveuni and discover an untouched Fiji. I had to laugh at the end though .. exactly @ 13:57, 58, 59 when you guys are tryna sing the Isalei. The word is naNUma ( meaning 'remember' ) .... you were singing na-MUNA - translated "the ass" or "the backside". LMAO. We do the same whilst singing it just for the laughs. Take care and all the best for 2023 !!
Hi Susan, thanks for watching and I'm glad you liked the video! All of Denarau Island isn't really good for snorkelling. However, you can do many different day trips from the Sheraton/Denarau out to other islands, marine parks, reefs and floating pontoons where there is great snorkelling. You can also stay at resorts on these more remote islands (which are the ones with whiter sand, reefs and blue-er water) but then you're usually confined to the resort only (usually more expensive) as there isn't much else on some of the other islands. So it depends on what you want. Enjoy your trip and safe travels!
Juz came back from Fiji went absolutely loved it! But FYI I juz learnt my myself Nadi is pronounced Nan'di but spelt Nadi 😉 good to know I'll be back again for sure. Next time try Suva! The grand Pacific Hotel 👌💯
I’m so excited me and my fam are staying at this resort as well in 2 weeks! We are also staying at mana island! It looks like so much fun and I can’t wait!
That’s great Poppy! Wish we were going back! I’m sure you’ll love it. The staff here were just absolutely lovely and it made our holiday so memorable! Enjoy! ☀️🏝️
Not in Brisbane Jan. You have to travel further north to at least Bundaberg which is about 360km from Brisbane. That's where the Great Barrier Reef starts (southern end).
Thanks Nathan! We stayed at the Pullman Hotel. Great hotel for kids as it has a fantastic pool as well kids activities during the day like face painting etc - also a good bar for the adults ;)
Hi Anita, we didn’t hire a car this trip as mainly did tours out to the reef and wandered around Cairns. If you do want to go up to the Daintree, Port Douglas or other places, it would be worth it but I’ve heard it’s quite expensive at the moment. We stayed at the Pullman Cairns which was nice. Great pool for the kids!
Great Video Mate! Perfectly covered everything! I also have 2 kids (6 and 2 yrs) and was planning something feasible with kids, and from Sydney too! And it looks like all the places were kids friendly! Wonferful coverage I must say! but just a question, so besides Fitzroy and Green Island, arent there other islands/snorkeling places where you can snorkel and carry kids as well?
Hi Navaid, I’m sure there is but these are the only islands we went too. We were pleasantly surprised by how kid-friendly the boats (and these islands) were so can’t really speak for other ones! But definitely recommend what was covered in the video as it was so easy with our kids!
Hi Lyndon - they're both quite different. Fitzroy Island has a much more laidback feel. If I had to choose, I would recommend Fitzroy because I found it much more relaxing (especially with kids) and the snorkelling was MUCH better than Green Island. There's just not as many places to eat etc there so you need to prepare a bit more.

Thank you very much for sharing some ideas to see Manila. I was given a project by Rakuten Travel and Manila Tourism Bureau to look into experiences and things to see/do in the area to produce a video guide and your video has helped me get an understanding of what to look out for in the based on their itinerary. It is good to see content creators still flourishing even during this tough period so I hope you and your loved ones remain safe! Keep creating!
