Hello Neil. Baie dankie vir jou video, waardeer dit!! 2 vrae asb. 1. Hoor mens lawaai in die nagte van nabye omliggende nedersettings? 2. Is daar goeie selfoon opvangs vir Vodacom? Baie dankie, ons sal dit opreg waardeer!
Thanks for video. There are more campsitesv1 tob6 closevto the beach which you didn't show and we would love to see, also 7 to 10 next to the sea. Ablution blocks inside? Overall we got an idea....
Is this good for 4 people? I assume we have to book 2 units. If we stay inside the park the whole time, then we only pay for one entrance fee. If we stay outside such as Merloth Park, and want to spend a few days visiting Kruger, then entrance fees can add up. Any thoughts?
Hi. We've left our Kruger bookings late this year and I notice that Pretoriuskop has a lot of availability compared to other camps in the south. Why is this? What is off-putting about camping at Pkop and why isn't it popular?
Good day We have also found that Pretorius Kop is typically one of the camps with availability. I think the reason for that might be that it is located on the border of Kruger so there are not many options to drive different roads from the camp. But that is just my assumption. Also the Numbi gate has been known for safety issues so few people want to enter through that gate.
An excellent campsite review thanks so much 🙏🏻 We've been once before & stayed on #17 which was allocated, lovely but would have liked to be on the fence. Next visit in April & been allocated #29 but tossing up between that or #30!? 🤔
Hi Ant The bush wing swings out and is strapped to the side. It literally takes about 10 minutes for one person do do it. Packing it up into the zip bag is a bit more of a task as you need to roll and zip it. For that I would it as a two person job and can still be done in 10 minutes.
Hi there, We are staying at Addo this Month. We found your video very helpful. Please could I ask you a question? The camp sites, are they all big enough? I have a Bushwakka Fargo trailer. I’m hoping to be able to put my 360’ awnings out for some shade. I’m stressing a little about the size of the sites to be honest and we can’t reserve any. Your opinion is very welcome.
AS A CHILD 50 YEARS AGO THAT PARK WAS MY PLAYGROUND SO GLAD i COULD SEE IT AGAIN NOT MUCH HAVE CHANGED EXCEPT THAT THE ABUSIONS ECT HAS BEEN MODRNISEDTHANK YOU FOR THIS WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE I LEARNT TO SWIM IN Davies pool
Ahve never been able to understand how a piece of land that forms part of public owned facility, built on public land with public funds can be privatly owned.
Watching your video and longing to go go back.....then as you pass site 17 there is our setup 😂 great camp, wonderful team who run it and will hopefully be back soon
Hi Pat Unfortunately I’m not aware of any companies providing rentals. Maybe you can call the park to find out if they know of someone or of a permanent campsite that is set up for rental. There are a few permanent ones there
Hi Neil I haven’t stayed at Satara, in fact I’ve camped at Skukuza and Pretorioskop only. Although I love Kruger, I think the camping experience there is not the best: water taps far away, ablutions not very well maintained, if you arrive late in long weekend, the sites you can find won’t be good with shade etc. I’m any case I’m planning to go to Berg en dal sometime soon. Cheers.
Hi Banana Camper :) I totally agree that the sites has their challenges, but nothing beats being in the Kruger :) Enjoy the camping at Berg & Dal and be sure to check out our review of that campsite. It definitely is one of our favourites.
Very neat campsites and rooms at affordable price , about 600 m off the N7 , large parking space safe with prafab walls surrounded Overnight when travelling from Cape Town to Sesriem or Fish River canyon A best overnight spot for me when travelling!
Hi ACR, BIG thank you for these very detailed and informative reviews! Whenever I plan a camping trip I firstly check with you for a review and opinion of the sites! Just a question concerning Stroms Rivier: I assume it is first-come-first-serve, as it is with most SANParks?
Hi Stephan Thank you for your comment, we are glad you are finding the reviews useful and following the channel 😊 You are correct that Storms River sites are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Happy camping ⛺️ 😊
Hi Selena 54 and 59 are indeed back to back with a braai in between them. Let us know if you have any other questions we can help with? Happy camping :)
Hi Engela Apologies for the laet response, we get so many comments it's hard to keep track. Did you end up going to Onrus and how did you find site 114?
This is a pleasant site. I do a school camp here once a year… we book areas away from other sites, so other campers can still have peace. I will say, I’ve never seen the campsite full. The ablutions are clean. In fact the staff are really great. And they are very helpful. If I were on my own, would I treat this as a resort? No. I’d still lock everything up. Not that I have had any issues. If I had to give a bad point. It would be that the main road is near by and sometimes you can get road noise. It also a fair walk to the sea. Would I rather stay at Palmiet. (I have done a few times - and the answer is no.) we have had issues with items going missing. If it were a once off. I wouldn’t mention it, but it’s happened several times. Maybe they got their act together? Time will tell. Palmiet is definitely the prettier of the two sites. Just my humble opinion. If you’re unsure about the safety of the venues. Give SAPS a call in Kleinmond and ask if any theft or issues has been reported. ✌🏻
We went there for my birthday in May and we got robbed. (Everything on personal camera). The weekend was ruined as we had the police coming in taking finger prints etc. It wasn't the only event that night. Others got robbed. The manager asked us not to share it on social media (last year August we had the same problem for my husband's birthday with more than R1000 in value stolen and I let a review on Google that affected them apparently). I feel it isn't ok to let people think it is safe when the 2 times we went there we got robbed. (No violence thanks Lord). Otherwise very nice and clean place. The security issue is really a downfall though.
Over the years I've never heard of anything violent. Camp is fenced and gates locked at night and there are security patrols. But this SA after all, thieves can scale fences or hide inside before gate closing so lock away expensive items.
