Brilliant work from this wonderful young tenor. He comes from outstanding musical stock. I am blessed to have studied under his mother, the extraordinary Alteouise DeVaughn-herself an acclaimed mezzo soprano.
hi Alexandra! I just ordered the piano part online somewhere, and told the guitarist which parts to play. Are you looking for a flute/guitar arrangement? I also did it with harp here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-feXq4ckJhss.html
@@alexandragroves7957 I just tried the link to my flute and harp video and it works fine:) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-feXq4ckJhss.html
I'm in love with the 3rd movement. Considering the lack of markings in the original score they have done well in making an interpretation that I found convincing and delightful.
I often turn the radio on softly to go to sleep. Even as I doze in and out I catch snippets of things. In a near lucid moment I thought I heard the ending of Scheherazade and the announcer describing "we have just heard a chamber arrangement of...." I thought I must have been dreaming and combining it with the radio. So I looked it up and INDEED there is a14-player modern arrangement of Rimsky's masterpiece of orchestration and composition. If the budget isn't there for the full-throated original version here's Plan B.@@MistralChamberMusic
hi again!@@violadamore2-bu2ch do you know which radio station played it? We are in Boston but I didn't think my WCRB (whom I know well) would play an arrangement of this. Was it our performance?
Yes, I AM surprised. I just remembered that some of the Second Viennese School composers made condensed orchestrations to promote themselves and others. As I said I was half asleep, but I DID hear snippets of Scheherazade and the announcer say "Scheherazade' and "chamber" in the same breath but I didn't catch the performers. My local public radio station carries "Music Through the Night" with Peter van de Graaf from WFMT, Chicago. I looked through the WFMT play lists for this past Sunday and Monday 10/29, 10/30, 12am to 6am but couldn't find Scheherazade. Would they have played the audio from your video performance? I could be mistaken about what I heard but I do know my music like I know my name. No, I can't say who the performers were, I missed that part.
Saw him leading the LSO in this iconic symphony at a superb performance that was streamed live on TV in Europe in February 2020, just a couple of weeks before big public concerts like that became a no-go for a long time due to covid restrictions. That performance from London has been reprised a couple of times on TV since but it seems no one has got it uploaded to RU-vid - very nice to watch and listen to this one of the beautiful Adagio as an alternative. Thank you! 💗
Thanks for telling me, Louise. It was a very special night fore all of us. (Julie Scolnik- flutist and organizer) The whole concert is posted on RU-vid as well. Let me know if you want the link.
One of Schumann's greatest works, the slow movement is excruciatingly beautiful.-- I could die for that opening cello solo, reprised by the viola, and then given out in the coda by the cello again. This performance was heavenly.
This performance really touches my heart. Tears come out. Thank you Alexi Kenney, two violinists, viola player, cellist, double bass player, harpsichord player and Vivaldi!
