As a massive fan 90% of my life. I didn't know half this stuff about the record. Strange my top 5 would include Sat night Wrist and Self titled. I must be some dark mo fo. Love this video . I brought the red anniversary edition on vinyl. The 3rd time I've brought this album. I love it. I got it first on release day and didn't feel it at the time. Id been a fan since before the release of around the fur and my young self wasn't deep enough. But these days I just love it more and more. Thanks dude.
I think this project is way overhyped. People are expecting it to be a shelved masterpiece, it's probably just unfinished and half-baked. Smile was good, Melanie is like a copy of Rats!Rats!Rats!, not too impressive. That Dallas jam is also pretty cool.
Babe stop everything. Nocturne posted a Deftones vid! I will say that if Steph hadn’t said literally anything about being disengaged from the writing process. No one would say anything about it. This record slaps.
I think Joe was just really young and didn't know how to deal if you are 15 and you brothers 21 and 18 it must have been hard being exposed to rock and role. But it looks like Joe grew up and grew into his skin. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_rwNdjtcrvM.htmlsi=7RgH8wpTYGojPxnp
I think just for nostalgia sake, adrenaline is my favorite, but around the fur is a very close second!! Lotion and mx are two of my favorite songs not just by the deftones, but of all time!! My musical tastes have gotten a lot harder as the years went by, but i will still always love the deftones!! I met Chi at the fender tent at ozzfest99!! RIP Chi!!🤟🤟💪💪
i collected all of this songs into a playlist and it sounds kinda sick :з I bet the author just has bad taste)) but again we again talking about differences in tastes which again is pretty stupid//
100% re Ohms. I remember when they released the video and people on here were loving it, I just couldn’t understand the appeal (other than it sounded better than most of Gore). 🤷♂️
I've met Chevelle several times and when Dean was in the band the three of them always came out together after the shows cheerful and joking around. I think they were the best iteration of the band. I doubt Dean left with any animosity. Seems like he genuinely wanted to spend time with his wife and son after 15 years straight of writing music and touring. I definitely would love to see him back because he's also a drummer and you can hear he added some influence to Sams drum parts.
Hey, man, I appreciate your channel and share your love for Deftones. Older fan here, so it was interesting hearing your dad's take on the band, 'cause I presume he and I are the same generation, grew up on Nirvana and Seattle sound and the music of the 90s. Deftones tho, my favorite band from the era after grunge, along with Mogwai and a few other greats. I follow Deftones from Adrenaline, and I always felt every record is even better than the last, but don't get me wrong: every one of their albums deserves the deep dive and attention of any audiophile who likes different in the realms of heavy, but melodic too, and much much more. For me - they never put out sh... material, whatever anyone thinks, that's my opinion. Greetings from Europe. If you want, check out my channel Balkan Secrets, there are a few interviews that could interest you or your old man. Cheers and keep doing deep dives.
The demo C Block is the best thing the band ever did IMO, there is a heap of demo playlists available out there… unfortunately I had a bad relationship that kind of ruined my associated memories of this band… I instead listen to bands like These Arms Are Snakes, Godspeed, Jesu, Mammifer and Blunt Razors - highly recommend all for anyone into this kind of music
Legend says that the cover of White Pony is heavily influenced by Hum's "You'd prefer an astronaut". The first three albums of Deftones are insuperable, not a single filler in 3 whole albums.
I dunno, I really enjoyed Gore. Hearts/Wires was one of their all-time best songs, and then of course you have Prayers/Triangles, Xenon, Phantom Bride, Rubicon, the list goes on. They have yet to release a bad or even disappointing album.
