It's crazy. Minutes ago I was on the English Wikipedia website of "Return to Innocence" for the first time ever and read that Michael Cretu sampled that song's iconic chanting from this Taiwanese guy. I went straight to YT and here we go. 30 years later and I learned something great new about my favorite Enigma song. I can't believe I didn't know that. Wow. Thank you, internet! ❤ 10th August 2024 :)
Fun Fact: The chant is from a tribe from Taiwan. A hymn sung at parties like weddings. This is a word for world translation to english: To my hommies and family, who came all this way! It's a blast you took the trip! Come! Let's chillax. We will jam for you, as you jammed for us when we hung out at your crib. Let's rapbattle while we drink. We gonna drop it so hard and get really shitfaced!
Enigma stole this to sample thinking it was in the public domain and didn’t pay the couple who chant in this. I know they sued them and got their money and I hope it was A LOT because this chant is why that song was so good.
Enigma stealing Mr.Difang's chant without his permission, Mr. Difang was shocked hearing his voice from TV during olimpic opening, the law suitcase last for 3 years. Rencently the lawyer who help Mr.Difang win the law suitcase just publish a book to tell the whole story. What is your problem?
I wonder if the community of the original record received proper royalties... Or was placed in the common sense of "collective oral traditions with no necessity to be paid".
This is the cut original. I can hear the cut. Where is the actually original. If be very interested to see the actual melody because this is the melody that enigma wanted to make by piecing it all together.
