I have had 4 lights fail in the last 4 years (pool has 3 lights). Very unreliable and no chance of getting warranty if it fails 1 day after warranty ends. By the way warranty only 1 year for a reason. Leds will last 50000 hours but corrosion in the light will kill electronics. I would not purchase these again
I liked the job the robotic cleaner did but your presentation lacked a lot. Monotone presentation, dragging the robot over the rubbish on the grass area where you just washed it all from the robot bag, not showing how well you can clean the bag and how you put it all back together.
One important warning is worth mentioning while changing the A or B directional controllers (while not engaged to the driveshafts for the scrubbers) is NOT to spin the controller by the black output gear which drives the wheel tracks. Doing so can cause misalignment of the nuetral cams within the controller and cause damage. The directional controllers are always to be driven by their white internal gears, NOT the black output gear. (Take it from someone who learned this the hard way)
For regular maintenance (every week or so), this robot performs very well and will save you hours of difficult work of vacuuming the pool in the summer heat. However, if your pool is very dirty or full of debris, don't expect miracles.
Do all the Revolutions have the same filtration bag, and are they the same size? I'm just wondering if you buy the floor only Rev 1, even though it only does the floor will it filter the same?
My revolution 3 doesn’t seem to collect all the leaves. In fact it probably collects 20% and that’s it in cycle 1 which I think is the longest cycle. Quite disappointed actually given how much it was. Instruction manual which I found online isn’t very helpful either.
Well James after our chat on the phone I ordered the Zodiac VX55 from your shop online and so far absolutely excellent, I previously had a Maytronics Dolphin cleaner before it died but the VX55 works so well and fast too, and so easy to remove from the pool with the lift system and empty and clean the canister then just hose everything off including the VX55 place back on the caddy and store in my garage till needed next time, very very happy, thank you Mat
Absolute piece of junk. Yep, looks really nice in a clear pool. People buy this unit to impress the neighbors, not to keep their pools clean, unless keeping your pool clean means having to deal with half a dozen leaves falling in each week that the skimmer doesn't pick up. Try getting it to clean a pool with some leaves and debris and watch as the 'jet engine' blows everything behind it up into the water and create clouds that will settle back down later and make it look like it never did anything to begin with. The thing barely picks up anything at all before it starts signaling that its full. Used it for a week and eventually went and got a simple $30 attachment to go on the end of the pool pole with a hose attached to the skimmer suction. In half an hour I cleaned up everything that this piece of crap couldn't manage in a week. People should file a class action law suit against Polaris for foisting an expensive piece of garbage on the public that they clearly never bothered testing properly. We bought it without even checking for reviews because we'd always been told that Polaris was the Rolls-Royce of pool cleaners. Selling this is virtually criminal because it doesn't do the job it's supposed to be designed for. Check around for other review sites. The complaints are everywhere about how this clouds up the water via the manner in which the exhaust port blows directly across the bottom of the pool as the unit moves about. If clouding up the water enough that the pool's own filtration system ends up cleaning the water then, yeah, the Polaris cleans the pool.
Hi Jack Greetings from South Africa. My MX8 is ±2years old. Some 2 months ago it developed a trend of running perfectly for ±½ hour and then coming to a dead stop. On lifting it out I find it jammed for no apparent reason. A mild push on the paddles moves it through the jam and then it runs perfectly for another ±½ hour and then jams again. I have replaced tracks, engine and both gearboxes but no difference (in fact, a bit worse than before, if anything). Obviously I have checked for and cleared any debris but it does this in again in a chrystal - clear pool. I have also back washed thoroughly to check there is enough suction but even in recirculation mode it does the same thing. The pool centre I brought it (and all the replacement parts) from has nothing other to suggest than buying a new complete unit. After less than two years usage I am less than impressed. Any suggestions as to where the problem could lie?
Jack did you ever find out how to pull apart the bottom chassis I to have a broken wheel and I cant figure out how to remove the black plates under the chassis.

He failed to mention that you need to install a transformer when switching from a Halogen to an LED pool light. This is a terrible presentation for failing to mention this. The reason your light blew.
@@randygoldberg8753 the manufacturer states you don't need to change the transformer, which the presenter also says. It is variable voltage, 12vac-32vac so should work with all known manufacturers. Having said that, I don't own one yet but am looking into Retro fits at the moment
My guess is poor quality factory design of the diodes but then i dont' really know. Say do they make orange pool lights. When i was a quid our neighbours had a spar and a pool the pool had a white under water light and an orange light in the spar i loved those as a kid. The wiring went under ground and ther was two switches above the kitchen sink must've cost a bit to install but worth it!!!!
Hi Adriano, no cleaner on the market is designed to deal with algae in a pool. The algae needs to be chemically killed. The instructions do state "Do not use your cleaner during shock chlorination!" This goes with all cleaners as high chlorine levels will damage the pool cleaners plastics and rubbers. When the filter clogs this does reduce the speed and climbing ability of the cleaner. If the pool is very dirty it is recommended that the larger debris is removed with a net and then several cycles are completed on floor only to optimise the cleaning performance.
What nobody says: The robot should not be used to clean very dirty pools, with microalgae or after chemical treatment. In these cases, the clogging of the filter makes a lack of power and adhesion. Why the robot? Only to maintain.
We use the ICH Roboter to clean very dirty pools and very successfully after the super chlorination process has done it's job of killing the bulk of the algae ie chlorine levels were almost at a normal level. The dirtiest we were challenged with, had us cleaning and washing the filter bag out after 10 minutes. The indicator was when the ICH Roboter iCleaner 200 stopped climbing the walls. We did this over an hour period, until the majority of the sludge and dead algae was out and was no longer weighing the bag down as much. Then we let it run for another hour after which we allowed the dead algae to settle again over night. Next day the robot completed the job. While the robot was starting the cleaning process, we were attending to other matters such as backwashing the filter to purge the algae, clean the filter baskets and also give the edges of the pool a manual scrub with a brush to dislodge and damage the protective coating on Black Spot algae. The other benefit of using the robot is it puts less wear and tear on the pump and filter plus it means less backwashing, less water loss and less chemical loss.
this is a very average pool cleaner and I have tried maybe 10 after working in pool industry for 5 years and now own 1. Basket is small and as it fills slows machine down. 40,000ltr pool take 3 goes to clean base. often tangle lead during 1 cycle.

Yes I know what you mean I had a cheap China model :( it got worn out in 70 hours I had to return my chinese one! I got an American made kreepy krauly classic but I want the marathon because I think it's cool but I love my kreepy classic!
Kreepy Krauly Cleaners have a 10 year plus life span. They are quality pool cleaners. I don't know what is available in the US at $100 but when you spend that amount in Australia you end up with a cheap Chinese copy which doesn't operate properly and doesn't last long.
