Hello! My name is Wendy. I am a registered nurse, as well as a Family Nurse Practitioner but as of now, I only work as a per diem RN. I share my nursing journey, tips, and resources to help nurses create a life they love beyond the bedside. I also share lifestyle content on this channel.
I’m currently working on my prerequisites for nursing school to become an RN. I really want to do Outpatient once I graduate. I also am extremely interested in going to get my masters to become a Psych NP. This video was very informative. Thank you for sharing.
Girl, I don't blame you! When I worked as a primary care RN, the APRN was taken advantage of completely. Expected to see her own patient panel in addition to the doctor's panel for acute visits, follow ups, hospital follow ups, annual wellness visits, etc. It was ridiculous. I am planning to start FNP school next month and like you, if I don't use my FNP license I won't feel so pressured but I'm glad I have options. I know of an NP with her DNP and is working at a university teaching students and never did a patient care role. The opportunities for nurses and nurse practitioners alike are endless.
I'm currently PRN too and I looove my work life balance. I'm not too excited about converting to a 4-5 day work week, but I am excited to get out of the hospital lol
Wendy, you’re looking fabulous, I hope you get tapped for more makeup endorsements. You’re very attractive, your skin is a perfect canvas for makeup and skin products plus your new hair style makes you look even younger! You have awesome hair ❤
I am a student nurse who is very shy and introvert person but i never regret being that because i believe that shyness doesn't make you stop from getting the work done. I love nursing because it has the unique qualities which resembles with introvert people. Yes, it is definitely true that shy person will be the great nurse. Thank you so much
Insurance companies hiring if someone is desperate, but be prepared to write a lot! And once a month, auditors can pull you on the side for making mistakes in notes...passing score 90 and above.
So helpful! Thank you bc I had no idea. I’m an OR nurse and I love it but it’s just not suitable for my current season in life. Homeschooling and opting out of daycare. I’ve found a per diem RN review so I wanted to see what it was before applying. Thank you
Hey Wendy, thanks for your videos and encouragement. Congrats on getting your APRN degree. I’ve noticed a lot of APRN jobs are doing the grunt work, while the doctors take the credit for NPs work and pass the blame onto the NPs. I highly recommend Nurse Fern job board for NP jobs and also pursuing nurse entrepreneurship, consulting in some way as a nurse practitioner. Also, maybe it’s good to take time before practicing in the APRN role. Take care of your own health, see your own physician, get labs drawn, practice self care as a nurse. 💗
@@LifeAsWendyRN thank you for reply so as senior for next year is good to take the CNA classes or after when I finished the hight school? what do you think? plz reply and also in week how many days is CNA class you can take?
Thanks so much for sharing this video. Did you say this is the West Meadows King suite? I just got a quote for the end of June and two nights will cost $1271. Seems like the cost has gone up a little bit
Hi Wendy, I totally understand your pressure not using your NP license. I am on the same boat as you. I really enjoy the flexibility of working 3 days as RN. I went to a few interviews for NP position, they didn't work out for me. Well, take your time to find the job that you really like. All the best to you!!!
Literally just went to the employers website and had no clue what I was applying for lol The job title was under RN care manager so that was throwing me off but this is proof that positions can be titled differently in job postings and sometimes not be so straight forward.
