I didn't have any until July. I've been picking off the adults. I have yet to find any egg clusters and no damage yet. Not wanting to use synthetic chemicals for pest control, I'm intrigued by spinosad. Cucumber beetles were very heavy for me this year. If they hadn't began disappearing I wanted to try spinosad.
My question is, why bother? Tomatoes already develop strong healthy root system, especially if you plant them deep, or horizontally, in a trench. It seems to me that tomato root system is even stronger than that of a potato. So the only advantage would be to try and grow both potato and tomato in the same spot, I guess? Do they have the same watering and nutrition needs, does this even work well? Would be nice to see the result of grafting, both tomatoes and potatoes, and side by side comparison with traditional yield.
Can I also prune some of the length off branches? My tree has gone wild and is reaching out in all directions. Growing like kudzu! I have a dwarf ornamental crabapple about 3-4 years old.
Have you tried dusting the plants with diatomaceous earth early in the morning when there is still dew on the plants? I dusted for a few days and noticed the larvae were turning a dark brown and drying up. Now we have just had over 100 mm of rain.
Wonderfully clear video. Thank you! Could you clarify how to use the combination of Neem Oil and Copper Sulphate - ratio and any details - for tomato leaf spot / blight.
Excellent video. The background noise, however, made it harder for me to understand.. I have hearing loss. Are you aware of watering using feeding tubes? They are just a 4' PVC cheapest pipe about 2" diameter you can get with an angle cut on the bottom. If you try to drive them in the soil, they will stop up. It is better to put them in the hole as you are planting the tomato plant. You will need to help support the top of the tube until you install support for the tomato plant. The leaves do not get wet using this. I water 2 quarts of miracle gro for tomatoes weekly until they begin blooming. I then switch to miracle gro bloom buster. It has less nitrogen for the plant but better supports fruiting. Get a funnel. I water 32 plants in about 30 minutes a week. I have a wagon to carry the buckets of water. I wish you well.
Spraying the plants every two weeks with a mixture of epsom salt and borax is suppose to help. I am going to try this next year because my melons were bland this year.
Great video. Are you going to grow another lime tree? I live in Michigan, I have 19 citrus trees. I have Thrips and Spider Mites in the winter. Do you have any ideal how to control them?
Fantastic video thank you. I've just bought a crab apple everest that can also be kept in a large container here In the uk. I'd love to plant it in the ground but get worried it will grow too tall
