The biggest reason to hold is the primary rental car insurance. There are very few cards with this benefit. Also the trip protection insurance but that's more common with other cards.
The WF cards as a whole ecosystem is great for Cashback, ~some travel transfer, and amazing for Choice Hotels. You can get all 4 cards, the AC, Autograph, Autograph Journey, Attune, all for an effective $45 AF. There is only one major category they missed and that's Groceries, but with the AC you can still get 2%. OH, and NO PORTALS for the AJ to get 4X Flights, 5X Hotels. I'm really curious what the WF Autograph Beyond is going to be. Thinking $395 AF and compete with the CSR, Venture X, etc.
Even if you are not hungry, you should order the meal. Otherwise a flight report doesn't make any sense. Also: describe the seat functions, what about the wine list? Where was your seat - was it a good or bad location?
Also Equinox is absolutely the biggest scam. Seriously nobody needs to spend $3600 a year on a gym membership lol. The people who go there is a certain stereotype.
I have the Amex Plat and I’m only keeping it for the credits. I actually get net positive value out if it. However my actual ecosystem is with the Chase trifecta.
this and many other eurpoean business class and city hopper flights are all a scam. its not much different than ryan air. take a look at Singapore airlines regional flights, emirates regional flights, they all have real business class lie flat seats even if its a 45minutes flight. Honestly giving 10/10 is way too much for a normal seat. Also there is no in flight entertainment which is an absolute no no. Both Singapore airlines and emirates have in flight entertainment in their regional flights
I appreciate the feedback! When I was coming up with that score I was only going off of what I had experienced so far and comparing it to European Business only. I didn’t even think to factor in those flights. Will definitely do next time. Thanks!
Great review! I'm lucky enough to be flying this upcoming week in Polaris for the first time. It'll be a nearly 16 hour flight! Given I don't really care about the lounge, I think it'll be perfect for me. Thanks for the video!
As a Marriott lifetime platinum with titanium status the past couple of years on retirement travel I added the IHG program (where I earned diamond last year) to my secondary portfolio after looking at Hilton - Many people value IHG and Hilton at .005 a point, but I found redemptions in the IHG program far more valuable than the Hilton model. Like a Hampton Inn going for 35K and Holiday Inn going for 19K or a Hilton going for 60 K and a Intercontinental going for 38K... I'll be exploring my options with Wyndham, Choice and Hyatt CCs - both personal and business in the near future.
I’ve found the same thing. I feel the only way to get good value from Hilton points is to use them on ultra luxury bookings, while with IHG I can get good value even from a lower end property.
Great comprehensive video. It was good to learn. The details a different points redemption such as uber united et cetera. Currently planning a trip to maui in july. I've noticed that right now. I'm getting a better deal through Amex Then threw the marriott by the boy app. I'm curious as to whether you think if the chase marriott cards will ever grant platinum status.
I will be product changing to this Ritz Carlton Card in September. Have you used the Club Level upgrade already? This is the main reason I want this card. I was just curious how easy (or difficult) it is to use. I know it is on pay stays. I currently have two separate Ritz Carlton reservations (paying $) for after September. I wonder how easy will be to get the Club Level upgrade on both reservations. Actually, these two reservations are under the $100 Property Credit Rate.
I have not used a club level upgrade yet. From what I’ve heard you have to call in to be able to book it and its a similar price to the ones online. I do wish that it was easier to book it in general but I think in terms of adding it to your reservation it shouldn’t be too hard. I assume you’ll just have to call in to have them make the switch.
actually not a real fan of the star aliance of United Airlines and i don't think that i'm going to travel with them one day because i'm not interested on American trip but about the polaris business class of United ,their configuration look outdated compared to the detla one of delta air lines who have it's hub at AMS, but for going to Chicago United is the only ride of course there's also American Airlines who propose better but not for Amsterdam nor Frankfurt as well, polaris look bad but we are free to choose if we like or not honestly me i don't like the polaris i don't know if that config concerns the alll fleets of UA being that Ams is desserved by UA with severals destination with mix 777,787,767 if the 787-9 look bad the rest will probably follow i guess otherwise thx for sharing us your experience
I appreciate your feedback! It's great to hear your thoughts on the Polaris business class. I’ll probably do a follow up in a few years to see how it holds up once I’ve been able to experience a few other airlines
