Hi I'm from Durban , I recently bought a bicycle. I work in pinetown, and I also live in Pinetown so I wanted to use my bicycle to go to work. And it will be better instead of transport fees. I'm worried about Richmond road. It's hectic . Any advice?
Came to this to learn about to do about wind chill but for you men and ladies with 4% body fat, there is a lot to consider when biking if you happen to breakdown. if it's below 20 degrees F, a pack full of clothes, food and a lighter should be a starter. This was a great video. TY.
Hi Edward,, really good vid from you and your ride , but...;-))......unfortunately your ride wasn´t the whole deal..;-) Although the "Edelweißspitze" (2571m) is the highest "peak" you can reach on a road in the Alps, The "Hochtor" (2504m) is the Top of the pass. It´s another 406 meters of altitude additional when you return to Bruck..;-) In total about 2050m climb..!! www.quaeldich.de/paesse/grossglockner-hochalpenstrasse/profile/nordrampe-von-bruck/ Did it two weeks ago with my girlfriend from Bruck back to Bruck. It was really epic. I´m not the lightest rider, much too athletic for steep climbs, a good roller, 193cm and about 100kg..;)) Gear 42 x 30..;-) , one rest for food at 2050m altitude, another 800m altitude to go....it was borderline. Since i´m riding for 35 years now, i did already a few hard long rides but the Großglockner was really outstanding. In terms of beauty i also recommend the "Susten" from Innertkirchen...
Hiya. I’m coming to Cape Town next week. I’m planning to cycle to garden route. I’ve been warned not to do it by a couple of locals. However reading some internet blogs of people who have toured, have said it’s been safe and not to worry. So just wanted to pick your brains about it, specifically areas or roads to avoid on the garden route. My plan is to cycle from Cape Town to port Elizabeth over two weeks. Many thanks, Indran
Dude blah blah blah, really ?!?!? Get real and do a real review. Too many reviews say the same mundane thing!!! You don’t realize Zoe it’s there really???
Anyone watching this interested in the Roubaix just beware in 2019 Spec have made the Roubaix a 9r carbon not 10r carbon. For example my 2018 Roubaix elite was 2800 pounds 105 10r. The current 2019 105 roubaix is 9r Carbon for 2600 pounds. Just saying :)
Hey Edward, it's 26 of march 2019! You posted this video almost 3 years ago! I don't know how your life has changed buth i can tell you one thing. I keep coming back to this video if i am in need of some motivation to train! Hope all is well with you and maybe i'll hear from you in the future!
Hi Edward, I was looking for a Vlog just like yours. I appreciate the help. I will go to Stellenbosch in march and will bring my bike. Since it is the first time roadbiking in ZA I would love to get your advice and help in Terms of roads and cycling in that area. Looking Forward to hear from you.Cheers.
So, the weight training principle, converted to cycling, trans posing heavier weights for greater power output. I use the ftp setting in erg mode on my smart trainer to do the same thing, pushing the ftp setting up 5 watts after 6 days training and 6 days interspersed rest, it seems to be working, when I change the setting, it is very hard to complete the session and my heart rate is extremely high. At the end of the 12 days, my body has adapted to the higher work load and ready for the workload to be raised and it starts all over again. In erg mode there is no escape from the demanded wattage unless you go into the spiral of death with reduced cadence to zero and fail.
I don't commute but on the weekend will wake up early and get out for the same reasons as you. I'm in London, the roads are busy all of the time, even very late at night, but I tend to cycle out of London and it's lovely to find more peaceful roads to ride on. Cycling has become very popular here for commuters. It's a lot cheaper than the trains, tubes and the infrastructure is improving slowly over the years. It's also quicker than driving, and can be quicker than busses and trains, depending on where you're going.
Well done Sarah. We would have been on the terrace of the Hotel Seehof on the lakeside watching the runners and so probably whooped a few times as you went past.
Hi Victor. You are technically not allowed to ride on the freeways. However, in certain places it is over-looked but I would not recommend it. For example in Bloemfontein the freeway is used daily by cyclists. Where are you riding that you might need to sue the freeway?
Do you have time and desire to update us on how the season went for you as well as well as your impressions of racing / training at the next level? Training and equipment tips? Happy Holidays!
What a pleasant surprise! Nice to see you back Sarah, looks like a fun way to get in a run and see the sights! By checking Edward's Strava ride for today I'm guessing you guy may be based in Girona for the winter ... seems like a good place to be at this time of year! Say hi to Edward, miss seeing his vlogs but glad to see he is still riding - training! All the best, and happy holidays to you both!
