Thanks for your videos, my 2012 Jetta tdi with 6 speed manual won’t shift at all everything under the air filter box seems to be right it’s the shifter that is totally sloppy! Any input would be appreciated thanks
Shame they sacrificed the little railway to the private sector whore called Seymour Sweeney on the Causeway Coast. Lord What's His Name was a plummy old bastard too.
This was a great series, originally first shown on a Sunday afternoon on BBC1 at 5.00pm... This episode & the Miles Kingston one(s) were the standout ones...& of course from this Palin got his Around The World In 80 Days & a complete new career branch line...🙏
I've always adored this show since childhood. It was made the year I was born. If you'd like to see a 1980 / 2023 comparison of Inverness and Kyle, check out this video from my UK trip last year: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-71m_xYnkFBE.html
Around 30:40 Michael Palin--Michael Palin!!--asks how do you farm dirt! The man I grew up watching as he grew "some lovely filth" in The Holy Grail. He is the poster boy for dirt farmers! Astounding sound work getting clear dialogue on a moving motorcycle, by the way. This crew was amazing.
At 21:01 we see Battle of Britain Class 34072 ‘257 Squadron’. Having been saved from the cutters torch, the locomotive is now based at the Spa Valley Railway, Kent.
Great video.. worked like a champ first try but I'm not able to get into 5th gear. Repeated steps multiple times .. no luck. Stick seems to be slightly to right. Does the pin for home position need to go to a certain depth?
I haven’t lived in the UK for forty years, but from what I’ve seen on my return trips nothing much has changed. Then again, flying to me has become much worse. An expat watching in Florida.
I remember this the first time round and it's as good today (2023) as it was then . Michael Palin is a great railway enthusiast and a very funny man too. I bet he has that station sign pride of place in his house , well you would wouldn't you .
Oh my goodness!! Thank you!! I just did an engine clean to replace the IP head seal and then after fixing seals the car didnt shift well. Thing is i couldn't find a mechanic to do seal work or one that knew the car well enough! Learned seal job from you guys! WOW -- saved big bucks! Every mechanic i went to wanted to replace the pump for like $2.5K or more. And as this video pertains moreso to my current issue of hard shift --- i paid someone to do the clutch (was only a little weak at 165K miles) and they didnt adjust the shifter -- dont think they knew!! Ugh! This video made it so easy!! With deep appreciation -- Thank you! 2003 TDI 5spd Beetle with 166k miles and original brakes Ok -- so how do i fix the sunroof drains?? Shoot me if i ever buy a car with a sunroof again. Also have a 2001 cummins dodge and MBZ S350 - yup all diesel Faithful customer charlie You guys are just terrific - on the phone as well!
Bet they didn’t realise when making this in 1980 that it would be considered by 2023 as something we now know as “asmr”… lovely! Just lovely. God bless Michael Palin - my childhood watching these with my British dad encapsulated. Thank you
