I've often thought it was part of a series of NCAA decisions that seemed to get aimed at the SEC blue chip teams but CNS specifically, but I'm told that the whole NIL, portal thing was put into motion by court decisions. Maybe these two lousy ideas aren't that easily explained and maybe NCAA had more control over them becoming law of the land, so to speak, than I realize. Other areas obviously designed to water down SEC is the constant enlarging of playoff format. This creates a maximum chance for the best teams to lose their best players due to injury, as they play one extra "playoff" round after another. Needless to say, the complaints that new 12-tm format needs enlarging, has already started.
As a non-partisan college football fan from New England, I can say objectively the 1991 team is the greatest of all-time. And I don't just mean Washington Huskies.
