Great video, you covered a lot of details and didn't bore me! I'm a flooring installer and I've been looking for a vacuum like this for vacuuming up carpet tufts and fuzz after an install. I would really appreciate it if you could do a test on a carpeted floor. Thank you!
Honestly, ALL of dewalts compact vacuums are terrible compared to the competition. The people in the comments that are upset you gave it a “bad review” are dewalt simps, pay them no mind. We need honest reviewers on RU-vid, not corporate shills. I myself am a dewalt fan, and even I know that dewalt is really slack with their R&D on compact vacuums. Literally all of their previous compact vacs are awful. Which is a shame because their shop vacs are really good, so it’s weird they drop the ball over and over again with their compact vacs. Great review. Keep up the good work 👍
I don't use this vacuum to do maintanance,,I use for remodeling is good when you cut drywall or make holes with your tools you just hang it on your belt with that Little hook and you don't have to hold it with your hand you have more access to use your hands when you coting something, this is a very good vacuum
That hook is for hanging in your belt when you are cutting drywall or wood and you don't have to Carrie with your hand since you hold the suction hose with one hand and with your other hand you are holding your tool lo
Very helpful review. Approximately 8-10 months ago I purchased the same DRO but as of yet have not completed the install on my Grizzly lathe. Thanks for the honest review!👍😉
Wish i found your video earlier. You're the only creator that showed the actual application of tightening, and torquing down hard. it's obvious from your videos that there's no slippage from Knipex. while other creators hardly showed this difference between traditional adjustable wrenches and pliers wrenches.
Tighten up that intro and get yourself a mic and you should gain some traction. You are good at these reviews! The (poor) audio hurts you though. Easily fixed. I'm subscribing
I've started buying Wiha 1/4 driver bits lately, and I've been very impressed with their quality over every other brand I've had or used. They don't twist or strip easily and hold up very well under regular use. Now I'm in the market for some new hex keys and will definitely be going with them.
Just got one to work with sheet goods. I agree with all your issues, but can add one. While it was in the not-too-helpful manual that you have to put the locking casters on the side with the rotating sheet holders, I missed it and of course had to remove and re-attach all the wheels, which means you also have to take the wheels apart to get to the bolts. Sheesh. I also managed to over-tighten one of the little T10 screws and sheared the head off. Since the holes weren't predrilled, I didn't think a clutch setting would work. Nice that it works with the other Festool tables as well.
Thanks for the great video. I too am a "weekend drywall warrior", and just got one of these for my remodeling projects. I do have a Festool vac (not the autoclean) and a Mullet cyclone for keeping the filters from clogging. The whole setup is just great. The dust control is truly amazing. I remember my previous remodels, even with a zipwall tent - you still end-up with super fine drywall dust all over the house. With this system, almost no dust in the tent, and the rest of the house is clean. The other great feature which you also pointed-out is the radial ring-light. Its such a simple idea, and it is SO effective at highlighting where you still need to sand. I'm not yet at the point of running it all the way up to 6 as you did (you are very confident!), I'm still running it at about a 2, to make sure I don't burn-through the paper on the new drywall. Even at that low speed, it STILL sands quickly.
Good video & won't be buying another gutless toy (tool) in M12 range just like the Circular Saw & Jigsaw which are expensive and not fit for purpose. M18 stuff no issue. Agree Dewalt Cut Off is a beast and does the biz.
I installed the same model on my lathe but didn't use any included scale mounting hardware. Each installation would have its own specifics, but the trolley sensor and its cabling must be secure and running true its entire length. The sensor trolleys may shift or bind if their cables rub against the machine, which could create poor DRO readings. Consider fixed trolleys with moving scales instead. The display mounting hardware is flimsy, however, placing crushproof sleeves inside the rectangular ends, allows the mounting screws to be tightened securely. The manual does a reasonable job of conveying the functionality. The value and performance of these products are impressive.
These particular saws look pretty but thats all they do. Im a carpenter for over 30 years and id take a cheap mastercraft over this dewalt saw any day, damn thing goes wherever the hell it wants to….piece of crap!!!!
An excellent review. Direct, honest and to the point. Well presented. At no point was I bored and find the need to fast forward as I do with many reviews from other people.
The kinpex pliers you dont need to have the closed grip. Just push the top leaver and yhats all you need. Its not like the other designs where you need to death grip that shit.
QUESTIONS - A - whats the little 'hinged capped elbow' right behind the "power feed knob" (perhaps) on right side above the quill handle. I got that one and another above it by the "collet bolt" -ish (its at work i dont quite remember where it is) B - how adjust the head angles ? thankyou
They’re oil cups, there should be a lubrication data plate on the side of the head. Loosen the four 3/4” bolts on the front of the head and then turn the bolt on the sode to adjust the head angle.
Dude punch the nails out with the timber sitting on the rim of a bucket of water. That thing isn't dangerous at all. It's only dangerous because you are being unsafe with it. WTF are you thinking holding the timber in your hand?
