Yeah, that sure is an ending. XD It divides opinions, as it's such a big change in the tone of the game, like you said (I personally did like it, but I get it if everyone's not enjoying it). You did really well in that scene, though! XD Btw, there was one hint about someone being still around: the fresh flowers at Sofia's grave. Oh, and the power being turned off at the hospital! It did have power when you first went there, but when you find the switch in the basement it's in off position, which means someone must have pulled it. I think those are the only things, though, at least all that I can remember. Also, the time capsule _is_ buried by that big stone at the cemetery... it's funny you didn't get a prompt to dig there. You should get that when you go there after you've read the diary entry about it. If you feel like it, you can try again from your latest save file, there is some interesting stuff there. Also, there are other endings to the game, if you're curious to get them. Not that there'd need to be a video about all that, just for your own amusement. ^^ Anyways, I'm happy you enjoyed the game! Painscreek is such a little hidden gem to me.
Thank you! That scene caught me off guard - I was panicking! :D Good call on the flowers - I saw them on the grave but never made the connection. I didn't notice the lights in the hospital so that's a good catch! The completionist in me might have to go back and see about that capsule. And the other endings. I did enjoy the game! @natzzz3862 The full release is out! I did the demo as a first look but will play the full release next time. 🙂 There are way more items to play around with in the FR. But yeah, this game is definitely one that you can chill out with for a few hours.

Well, Bernard did have a bloody knife hidden in his house.... :/ Good job opening the desk! XD I got to admit I laughed a little when I saw you starting with the wrong number first ^^;; But tenacity's rewarded! (And yeah, I too thought you already had the bishop, but nope. I had to check where it's found, and if you do the stuff I mentioned in the prev episode, you should get it, too... not that you need it anymore, of course.) And yeah, there's a grate you're missing. It's not too easy to notice, so... if you want, I can give a hint? Though I would probably do all the other stuff first before worrying about that. Oh, and you should have picked up a tool you noticed ;)
Haha a little bit of a rollercoaster with that desk and the chest pieces. :D I'll keep looking for the last grate - I think I got all the obvious ones throughout town. I'll keep looking for it in the next episode, but if I still can't find it, I'll ask for a hint. Speaking of - You mentioned there was something I could do yet in one of the homes with the hammer. Give me a hint on that! I know there was a jammed door (Andrew's house) and drawer (Wanda's house), but not sure if there was something else? I missed grabbing the shovel, didn't I. :) I thought the placement of that was odd!
@@whimsyplays Yeah, that particular grate really isn't the easiest to spot. I just went to check that I remember correctly where it is, and then I ran by it twice before noticing it. XD It's in the shadow which might partly be why it's so tricky. As for the hammer, it's one of the things you mentioned. Btw, there was a note somewhere, I think in the shed at the mansion, about Oliver having borrowed some tools, maybe they were randomly lying around in his photo lab cause he was planning to return them soon (and then never did as it didn't really matter anymore)

I just remembered one thing I was going to say, if you find the time capsule, there's something that's buried with it but it's not in the capsule, and if I hadn't known about it, I would have totally missed it, cause for some reason I wasn't getting the prompt to pick it up. I had to try several times from different angles before I finally could do that. I don't know if that was just a glitch in my game or a common problem, so I'm mentioning it just in case.
This sort of reminds me a of a game called Little Kitty, Big City. If you've not played it, I could really rec it for you! Had some glitches but overall it was really fun and cute.

XD Great progress again in this part. ^^ Checking out the house (the key of which you got) is definitely important, but just a reminder (as you didn't mention this among the things to do in the next episode): you could also try to check out Matthew's present for Sofia. You should have a list of his favorite places too at this point. ^^
I was excited to get back into it after this episode so I did play again and already have another episode recorded. I still need to edit it but I did get a bit stuck (you'll see why) so you're reminder to check out Matthew's present to Sofia was helpful! I'll add that to my list - Although I'm not sure I've found his favorite places yet!? I'll check all the documents/journals again. It's going to be a sad day when the series is done! I'm very much enjoying this game.
@@whimsyplays I can imagine there are many things at this point it's easy to get stuck with. ^^; (I remember myself giving up and googling some stuff, despite having seen a playthrough before). If you want a hint about something specific, let me know! Actually, I was trying to think of stuff you can do at this point that hasn't been mentioned. One thing is that you can still use the hammer for something else in a certain house (should I tell you which one?) Also, there's the time capsule that Scott, Trisha and Derrick hid. I think you probably have (after the next episode that I haven't yet seen) the tools to find it. (Who knows, maybe you've already done that!) Oh, and Father Calvin's birthday... there's a way to figure that out. ^^ Many of these things aren't really stuff you _need_ to do to solve the case, but they do add to the story.

Good job solving the dart puzzle so quickly! So many get stuck with it... well, I guess that's partly because they try to solve it with the dart board on the door without noticing that one dart has dropped (it's on the floor). So you need the photo to solve that puzzle... but somehow even after finding the photo, few get it right on the first try. There's still stuff to do at the hospital! There's one room you didn't go to in the basement. Small but sort of important, as it'll help you get into somewhere else there ^~ And... I got to admit that I honestly don't remember, but I _think_ there was something else too in the other drawers of the sheriff's filing cabinet.
Yes! I cut it out of the video but went into the small room and turned on the electricity. Didn't make the connection while playing, but during editing, I noticed I have something in my inventory that I can use now - So that's on the to-do list in the next episode. And then I'll also go back and check out the filing cabinet again. Thanks!
Nice episode! Making good progress here. I think things should proceed quite nicely from here. Once you find the place you can enter from the sewers you should find a lot of stuff that leads to unlocking other stuff. ^^ Btw, the box you found in the tree stump isn't the time capsule, it's something else. The time capsule is in the cemetery, but you need something to dig with to get it. Oh, and I think you've at some point earlier looked through the gate that leads to the well, cause when you look there for the first time, you see that same woman that was by the river at Andrew's house standing there. She's awfully easy to miss, though, I missed her in my playthrough too.
It's so easy to miss stuff in this game... I honestly doubt anyone can notice everything, at least not on the first playthrough. I did end up googling a few things myself, despite having seen a lets play before I played this. ^^; And! I just realized that I missed that you missed something earlier. It was a little ago, in Trisha's room. I'd recommend going there next, as it's something you really need.

25:31 Father Calvin was the pastor before Father Matthew The hidden panel at the reception is really tricky to find (and tbh, there's nothing important in there. Still kinda fun to find it, tho, I guess?) Anyway, you should check the little desk that's by the wall. Couple of missed things: you should close the door when you're in Bernard's study. No hurry with that yet, though, cause you can't yet figure out that puzzle anyway, you're going to need more info. (So many people spend so much time trying to figure it out right away, but it's just not possible yet ^^;) Also, the secret room in the study at the mansion... you do have all the info you need to get in there. If you look at things you find there from all sides, you'll see. ^^ Oh, and I'll just say this too, cause it's so difficult to see... when you go back to the study at mansion, take a closer look at the number lock on the desk. Like, really close... maybe with flashlight on. (let me know if I'm being too specific/not specific enough with my hints... I just don't want to offer any unsolicited advice, so to say) Anyway, I enjoy watching people play this game, so I at least will continue watching this, but I can see this isn't the most popular thing on your channel, so I get it if you stop making these videos. It's a great game tho, so I'm glad if you enjoy it!
No worries at all - I'm clearly missing a lot of things so I appreciate the hints and help! My channel is still very new but my hope is to continue to bring games in that I personally enjoy and share them with others. Painscreek is definitely one I want to continue playing until the end, so I'm glad to have someone out there that enjoys it and is following along too! :)
A little hint about the chess pieces you found in the shed: you should rotate them. Also, I think you missed something at the balcony next to Trisha's room... it's really hard to see though, I missed it too when I played this. (I mean, I even knew there's something on a balcony cause I watched first a let's play and then played this myself, and I still missed it ^^;;) I hope you don't mind small hints like this.... Anyways, flashlight might help on the balcony! (I honestly prefer keeping flashlight on all the time in this game, even when it isn't dark, cause it does help noticing stuff)
