Thanks for the review, I really appreciate it. Can you tell me again where you're getting your top links? I think you said Atlas supply but I'm not finding it.
how did she tow with that weight, iv always been curious i have a 2024 3500 high country dually i tow a 40' 5th wheel that weighs 14,000lbs which is baby shit for that truck
It towed great; smooth sailing down the interstate at 70mph. I’ve always had duallys until this truck, but if you put the appropriate upgrades the SRW is a better option in my opinion esp. if it’s a daily driver. I do like the peace of mind having the extra tires on the dually if a tire were to blow, but I have yet to have that happen to me in all the years towing. It’s always a trailer tire that blows.
It was 45 miles to pick it up and 45 miles to get it back home. The efficiency or I guess MPGe was the same unloaded as it was with the payload so no loss of range. I’m going to tow a horse trailer soon and see how much efficiency it loses.
I appreciate your concern and positive feedback. Although a battery fire is significantly more violent than a gas/diesel fire, they are also less likely to happen compared to gas/diesel vehicle. If it burns it burns, just like the ford eco boost I saw on the side of the interstate this morning. As far as the charger is concerned, I have a 100 amp charger that can charge from 0-100% while I sleep. Cost me about $130 in electricity to drive 2000 miles.
do you think having all that instant torque is good for muddy situations or not the fact that if you set up your own off grid power to charge it is basically free is wild
I’m in underwater logging and to use this machine with finesse is impossible, it’s not practical at all for the application I’m using it for. Big heads-up for anyone in tight spots
Thanks for the video. I just made a deal on a new M6-141. I already ordered the Tiger lights to replacement the stock ones. Tractor is at the dealer since I am overseas at work so Im excited to get home in 2 weeks and pick it up and go straight o the hay fields.
Thanks for posting the review, I'm pretty serious about buying one of these tractors this coming week. Drove it around a lot at the dealers lot and liked it. It was between it or a Farmall 120C
It’s still working great, Zero issues. It has a couple screens under the hood. Blow it out a few times a year. I do recommend the rear sunshade, helpful for long summer days in the tractor; helps keep it cool
Luckily I don’t have to worry about blinding people in the middle of MY fields. My opinion on LED lights in a field vs on a public road are vastly different. You obviously are an idiot, but thank you for the comment!
Good honest review. I just purchased a new M4, put 11 acres of mowing on it today. Only complaint is how sudden the change between forward and reverse is with the shuttle. Quite jerky and not smooth at all.
Thanks for the comment. Did you look at any other branded machines prior to purchasing the Kubota? My M6 shifts hard at times too. I think shuttle shift sensitivity can be adjusted by dealer computer just as an FYI. I looked at Massey also and one feature that it had that I liked was a shuttle shift sensitivity knob.
@@DoddFarmAndField I actually work for a large Deere dealership doing field service. Only two brands I considered were Deere and Kubota. I’ve had a Deere unit and most recently a kubota. My employee discount is laughable and I couldn’t get the frame size I wanted with the options/features I wanted in a Deere. I’ll call my dealer and see if that’s something they can adjust, thanks!
I listened to you video with your other tractor. The Kubota seems to have much more noise insulation. I just traded an M100Gx on an M6-141 and appreciated your video.
I never got around to making any videos of the towing as I’m always in a rush it seems, but I have done quite a bit of heavy load towing in the past year. I’m typically towing 34k pounds which would be about 26k pounds of hay along with 8k pound gooseneck trailer. If you haven’t joined the Silverado Medium Duty facebook group you might want to check that out because I found a lot of good info there. Here is a link to a picture I posted on facebook of a typical load for me. facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10106599182058178&set=gm.802553966966405 I have a 2018 ram 4500 as well, but when i know I’m going to be towing a significant load i grab the keys to the Chevy over the Dodge every time. It hasn’t been a completely trouble free ownership, but nothing major, and these days its hard to find any new truck, tractor, or equipment that is completely trouble free. Let me know if you have any other questions.
The only issue I had was a coolant hose that started leaking (aluminum tubing developed a crack due to how it was welded on the bracket where it is was mounted to the engine.). GM had a recall shortly after, but I had already done my own fix. I sold it about a year ago with 40k miles and got what I paid for it. For a daily driver the new 3500s are a better option, but I loved it for towing I was weighing in at 12k pounds empty with the 6500. My 3500 is weighing in at 9k pounds; the 6500 would take all the tongue weight you could give it, I have to balance the load more on the 3500.
Here is a little tip on two things that have happened to me in the last two weeks, 1st hand break Waring light on with alarm going. I was told it was a sensor issue, its not.... Top up break fluid problem solved. 2nd I have a McConnell flail arm attached to mine, after 5 weeks I was loosing power on a simple slope, kioti wanted to do a full inspection, however a friend of mine told me to check my tractor hydraulic oil, sure enough needed top up even though it had no leaks and the McConnell flail arm had its on hydraulic fluid tank. I hope this may help you or anyone that might come across these issues, it just helps to pass these tip bits on.
I have been in contact with Kioti Corporate and they have told me they are researching the source of the sound. I’m helping them however I can as far as additional details as to when the sound happens. They said they hadn’t had any notifications from dealers about the sound. I can keep you posted if you’d like. I have had my tractor for a year and half or so and 600 hours with no issues connected to the sound. My concern is if something is going on internally that may be an issue down the road. I can tell you we aren’t the only two with the sound as I have talked to others with our model.
