Hello! I used what I had on hand. Toothpicks or hors d'oeuvre picks. To make them smaller I sand them down. It is really hard to find anything smaller than a toothpick :) For the rake handles I used bamboo shish kabob picks. I made the Victorian fishing pole from the shish kabob picks as well ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C-7-O9HV4M0.html Have a most wonderful day! Thank you for stopping by. :)

Hello! I am glad it turned out. It is what I had envisioned. It took a couple of months during the winter to randomly see the bobby pins and then the wheels of progress began turning. It has been raining and now it is muggy. Papier mache is not drying. I may have to bring everything in the house for a coupe of days until the muggy weather passes. I am doing finishing work on the endcaps of the doors on everything that does not need papier mache fill. I am nearly done for the day. Bye for now xo :)

Hello Kathryn, the window panes look great, the build is looking amazing, the stonework is fantastic, you've done an incredible job with it, so looking forward to seeing it all put together. Laminaters do come in handy, I laminated the flooring I had printed out onto photo paper in the toyshop roombox I made to save it from scratches. I think summer has finally arrived, we have temperatures around 70.f and sunshine, fingers crossed it lasts for more than a week 🤞🏻 Bye for now, take care, Diane x

I think this is coming along beautifully. I love the windows thank you .I too am working on doors and windows this is a perfect solution. I’m using this idea hope you don’t mind.Have you ever made flowers from sea beads just made a bunch and they were lovely. I used the wire from a ribbon I had. You take the wire give your self a good length. Go to the center of the wire length cluster four beads and twist.continue twisting giving each floral a branch . Add four more beads and continue, your looking for a cherry blossom look. I added five green beads to make leaves,at the bottom of the branch.Give it a try lots of fun😃💕💕💕💕thank you again for the windows love it 💕💕💕💕

Hello Kathryn, the leaded window glass looks great, good idea with the quilling paper, the stone walls are looking wonderful, love the mullioned windows. I love stone buildings, The large village a few miles from us has lots of very old stone houses of all shapes and sizes, the stone here is ranges from beige to a deep golden brown colour, I'd love to live a old stone house. I'm looking forward to seeing your build, it's been a long road for you. I don't think I could cope with it being that hot, we've just had 2 days of high 70's that was too warm for me, it's been so cool and rainy for months here, the warm wetis a shock to the system lol. Its back to mid 60's now. Have a lovely week. Bye for now, take care, Diane x

I love the stone building as well. I have never done this kind of layering before so my first idea was experimental. The video I watched was so simple and it may not be the type of granite I had originally planned but if i follow the procedure carefully it will possibly look like the stone building you love. It is not as hot today...only 99 at the moment LOL!...and it is only 10 AM. I am proofreading reports today and doing some hemming. Back to work tomorrow after I weed the garden. Have a great week. Another update on progress Sunday :) xx

Nice restoration! 😊Just a suggestion to maybe find a spray nozzle that fits on top of the hydrogen peroxide bottle it originally came in or put the hydrogen peroxide in an opaque spray bottle because hydrogen peroxide quickly loses its effectiveness when exposed to light/heat.

Hello Kathryn, that was really interesting, bees are such beautiful intelligent creatures, the natural comb was wonderful to see. Do you ever get pests ? I see quite a lot of honey bees in our garden, we have bee keepers locally, we've noticed quite a few large hornets around this year, there have been quite a lot of Asian Hornet sightings this year too in the south of England and the Channel Islands which cause devastation if they get into bee hives , there's even a phone line to report sightings it's so serious. I have no idea what sort the ones I've seen are but one was red and almost 3 inches long, with a really loud buzz, it frightened the life out of me as it flew past my head. I hope you are getting some nice weather over there, it's still cold and wet here, I don't think we will get a summer this , it's like its gone straight to autumn brrr. Have a wonderful week Bye for now, take care, Diane x

Hello! The bees are fun to have around. The Carniolans are very gentle and curious. They like to come around to see what I am doing in their garden :) I see ants sometimes and just sprinkle a good layer of cinnamon around the hive. We have had no reports of the Asian hornet here but it has been seen in eastern Washington. Several nest have been destroyed there. With the uncreased international shipping it was bound to happen. I would bet that is what you spotted :O The weather has been rainy sunny for s couple of days, today is mostly sunny so I have been at work in the garage tidying up the build before is it put together again in the dining room on Tuesday.
