Just two Southerners living and working in South Korea. We review restaurants and delivery, cook good food, build computers, play video games, travel (when able) and occasional car work on our Subaru BRZ. We also have adorable shih tzu furbabies who make random appearances and have their own occasional videos! And we bring our friends along on adventures occasionally too!
We are the KimchiRednecks! Welcome to our insanity!
Hey fam! Very cute trip. I'm having some Soju as I watch. It was that kind of day. Not bad enough ...or good enough for the Hibiki's though! 😅 Malls here are still boring. I don't think I had been in one for at least a year until last weekend. Met some friends down at the beach and went to the IMAX at the mall to see "I Am Still". The only store there I liked was Miniso. The Crocs store at the Outlet mall the next day was good though. Never thought I'd be caught dead in them but these days I have more Crocs than regular shoes. Stay safe and healthy. 💜
@@TheBioExplorer We don’t spend too much time in malls but we did want to see the library at this one. It was a good experience but mostly because we spent time with our friend, Joy. Stay safe and healthy.
Hi can you help me how to find bus routes and metro routes in pyeongtaek. I am visiting for 2 months for work and have to get an AIRBNB but dont know which place will be convenient for travel.
@@Cscottser Chuck says he is old and has no witty comeback. But you try taking care of all the women in his house and see how many gray hairs you get 😂😂😂
You can take the coil out of the original pot Get a 1 gallon new clean paint can with lid Drill holes in the side of the new can for water inlet and outlet valve and coil pass through Use pass through fittings so you can get the coil through the side of the can Put the lid on the can and run your water pump No need to regulate the water valves keep them wide open The can is sealed
alright, now I'm going to have to run some melons. You might look into using Glycerin to drop some of that sharpness. It will help smooth it out. I can't remember the ratio but you can find it online.
Didn't realize they had a mash kit for the Digiboil. Now I have something to add to my shopping list along with the lid that has the sight glass port. Been looking for a better way to work the grains.
@@kimchirednecks in answer to your problem with the 2 water ports being straight up. I’ve seen a number of videos where people have curved / bent them down in different directions. Some have them leaning over to the sides. Some even have them both leaning over to the front. I’m sure should be able to carefully persuade them into another direction to help with your predicament being straight up. Might be something you could consider. I was thinking that they could be in the up direction for ease of packaging and people can move them into another direction after unpacking.
@@ScottCoppess So, this was literally three runs. We did an initial run which turned out great just using the thumper. Then, we did another mash in and run with thumper but we mixed run 1 and 2 without tasting first. (Rookie mistake). This gave it an off flavor, so we then ran the combined liquor one more time with the thumper to fix the run. We find brandies do relatively well with just the thumper.
Unfortunately we did not. The problem persisted even through a bios update, bios reset and trying 3 different cables and 2 different drives. I assume it was an issue with the board I received.
Just came across your channel. Love how you show us how to make liqueurs but you seem to be taking enormous risks when it comes to determining the specific contributions of fruit or juice or extracts to alcohol. Would it not be simpler - and less risky - to take, say 10 ml of that orange juice and add known quantities of alcohol to it - say, 5 ml, 10 ml, 15 ml 20 ml etc.. to see what ratio you prefer, then when you have determined that, you can measure the total amount of juice you have and add the total amount of spirit your test has suggested is best. You can do the same for sweetness - using the same sample, and you can do the same for the final desired ABV (or proof), and indeed, you can do the very same thing for determining the preferred ABV (proof) that any 'shine you make has for you. Sure, you can fly by the seat of your pants, but I wonder how often you make an infusion (AKA liqueur) only to find that the ABV is too low/high, the liqueur is too sweet/not sweet enough, there is too much fruit/not enough and when you make a perfect liqueur you are unable to make it exactly the same a second time because when you made it the first time it was simply by chance that it was so good.
Welcome to the channel. Glad you enjoy watching. To assuage your fears let me assure you that we do a lot of research before we try new flavors. Before we distill or infuse we have a base recipe we are working from, and we keep notes of any changes we think need to be made if we make it again. Very rarely do we do one randomly. Now the execution is exactly what you see. We film as we do, so if it is a success or failure you see as we find out. Fortunately we've only had maybe 1 or 2 that were unsavable. Again, thanks for watching. We've got some new recipes lined up to try over the winter months. Hope you will enjoy those as well.
you guys are so bold to try those flavours!!!! now I can try something new after watching this video. so useful for somebody who only goes for regular (me!)
@@fullofmyjoy We both love melon so we knew we had to try them. But then I had to send them to Chuck’s office so I would not eat them all. Lol. They were good.
@@英雄本色周潤發 You are so kind. We love cooking and we love Korean food. We do our best to try and cook it authentically but occasionally we throw our spin into the food. Korean food is amazing.
@@kimchirednecks so nice of you too And I love cooking and Iam so looking forward to watch your Korean recipes and American recipes just keep at it and I will encourage both of you take care in this hot weather
@@英雄本色周潤發 We will have to head there to try it out. To be honest, neither of us miss American style Chinese food that much because we both love Korean Chinese food.
Can you please tell us more about the induction stove you are using (how many W and what's the diameter of the element)? I thought the Vevor was non-magnetic and wouldn't work well. But I see you're doing just fine. I just wanna make sure I get a good stove.
@@ToastedSynapseGaming It is a Korean brand Cuckoo stove. It is about 1800 watts. The diameter of the element is about 10 inches (I think). We have used it exclusively with our Vevor stills and have not had any issues. With our larger stills, it will take longer to heat (also if the pot is wider than the contact area), but it does the job.
@@robertj.welleii6166 Sorry 😅Sometimes we have to cut things based on timeliness. This one was filmed in April, so the beers would be very different since they do rotate based on availability. thanks for watching!
pasta looks ok but looking at the size of that detroit pizza ahhhhhh it looks small for two people no?? plus that garlic bread looks good thank u for the video
@@davidko1830 Here is the menu www.motownpizza.co.kr/menu Total for food was a little less than 40000 won. They do have sets available. We ended up with leftovers so it works. Also, that bolognese sauce in the pasta was amazing with homemade Italian sausage and the sauce, it was pretty fabulous.

this place is the best mexican place by far in this country period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its not even close!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well brother. Im using the same rig but bigger. Same worm though. But i figured out that instead of using the gravity valve. Just cut the lid off a 55gal drum and put a bbq/oven grill across the brum. Replace the worm tip with a slightly longer one and just let the water run off the top. You get complete submersion of the worm and proper angle and you never make a mess and the water dosnt get hot. It works awesome
I'm so glad you have kept up the family tradition of "the one with the most toys wins"! 😂A Korean mink blanket bathrobe? How cool.. You know I'm never without my Korean mink blanket and gave all my kids one a couple of years ago. There is nothing better. I would probably burn up in a robe though. Sorry I'm a bit late getting here this time... there was a little matter of a certain guy getting out of the Korean military that has kept me busy.
The robe is comfy in the winter here. We sent the parents robes for Christmas one year and they got one for Gramps too. We have more toys that we will be unboxing soon!
If you wear headphones on the train or subway, people are less likely to bump into you. Well, at least in Seoul. I think that’s because they figure you aren’t tuned in to your environment. Public transportation with headphones on is more bearable.
