Will the outdoor amenities belong to the buyer of the $920,000 Condo with a loft, or would I have to share the outdoor space with others in the building? On the video, it looked like you came out a door that was possibly from the condo you were showing? Also, is there an HOA for this property? If so, how much does it cost, and how often is the payment? Is it monthly, quarterly, etc? Thank you, Glenda Humphrey

As someone who sweat a lot living in a tropical country, I fell inlove with Las Vegas's dryness! I've actually visited it in August so it was pretty hot but since my body sweats a lot, it's able to make use of that feature very well because the more i sweat, the more it evaporates and it cools me down. I guess my body meant for deserts. I see a lot of tourists covering their faces because it burns but I didn't have problems with it at all. But yeah I'm not desert proof. Just desert resistant.

I agree 100%. I sweat a lot too. I grew up in the South and lived over half my life in humidity. I first experienced the dry heat of the West when we moved to Scottsdale in 2001. Once I felt the dry heat and no sweat, I was hooked. I would NEVER live in humidity again. UGH....hate it.

The freeways in Los Angeles were the first in the world, and were named. the route numbers came much later. So you had "The Arroyo Parkway". "The Hollywood Freeway". "The Long Beach Freeway". and so on. In addition to major highways (Angeles Crest Highway, Pacific Coast Highway). Eventually when they assigned numbers, with 10 or so routes and freeways bisecting the city, it was too cumbersome to say the full names and who could remember what was state, local, toll, or interstate? So they just said "The (number)". Some people still say the name. Two exceptions, tough. 1: Route 66 is still Route 66 where it exists. 2: Highway 1 - even though it's an interstate highway, it's just "PCH". Always about being as efficient as possible when giving out directions. :)

This is my first full-year here as I moved to Vegas from LA. What I can say is its a good place to live... Cheaper cost of living, well-planned roads (especially compared to parts of LA county) and easy to navigate city, lots of investment opportunities, if you're a business person there are lots of conventions that come TO you which is nice, great restaurants, tourism is mostly kept to the strip, newer better looking buildings, etc etc. That said, this is my summer here and its damn-near unbearable. I LOVE the winter though. Its pretty much perfect other than the couple of months where its extremely hot. The way the snow is always on the mountains overlooking the city and the weather is chilly enough to whip out flannels and jackets and stuff, I love it. You could make a list of things that suck about every city... grass is always greener on the other side so I'm just gonna be content with Vegas. It's a nice medium between the midwest where I grew up and California where I moved from. Also its a 24-hour city... if you like going out or you're a night person this might be the place for you. (Sunsets are gorgeous here too)

Las Vegas, I've lived in this fucking Hell hole for 60 fucking years and I've been trying like Hell ever since to get out of here.I came up from Calif and kick myself in the ass for ever leaving there. They talk about all the people leaving Calif but all the ones leaving are the losers who couldn't make it and are bringing their shit to Vegas. We have a halfwit ex cop as our governor who wont put a cap on rentals forcing many elderly people out of their homes to live in tents or their cars.As I'm writing this comment a woman and her 12 year old daughter across the street from me are being evicted by a city marshal, her belongings are being put on the street she appears to be heavily stressed, very very sad! "But that's Vegas baby".

New York is the state with the highest average car insurance rates at $8,232 per year for full coverage and $2,490 per year for minimum coverage. Nevada is high, so is gas, but because California is higher in both and California refineries make gas for Nevada and rip off the state. The desert has scorpions and ants and crickets (no flies or mosquitos). Other places like California have rattlesnakes, flies, mosquitos, ticks (lyme disease), fleas, cockroaches, major black widows, brown recluse, cougars, june bugs, earwigs...you know, where there is rain there are insects and animals. Vegas has grass and trees, palm trees, and golf course, 70 of them. There are homeless, but they live near the strip about 6,500 in all. Compare to Californias homeless, near 250,000 now. Water rationing is really not a thing, but it is desert and we have had drought, so the water district give guidance, most lawns are being replaced now by cactus and rocks and the water district pays for the change. Why should ANY desert have lawns? Sensless. Like anywhere, you need to shop when you need service for your home or car. Vegas is big enough to have a lot of competition and there is no reason to pay rip-off prices to anyone. Drivers are far tamer here than in LA, SF bay area or around any city on the East coast like Boston or DC. LA has the worst drivers by far and the worst road rage. Road rage in Vegas is rare. The bigger problem is pedestrians being killed by drivers. Vegas has GIANT WIDE STREETS. and it is a 24 hour town, so you get drunks in the middle of the night and the two do not mix. Just dont be a pedestrian in Vegas. Allergies are far worse where it rains more, like California, but the winds blow pollen from CA to Nevada, same for smoke from CA wildfires. Sadly, its always California that is the problem. All and all its a fair video, but in general Vegas is a great place to live, the heat is the only real downside. So much upside as major sports teams, decent schools, and no state income taxes, and no taxes on food.

It's because the first freeways in the WORLD were in Southern California and it's the home of the original "car culture", fast food, and drive-in movies and drive-throughs. So the major freeways literally divided the state and defined neighborhoods. In the 50s and 60s, Los Angeles county extended all the way to the Nevada border, so locals called Vegas "East Los Angeles County" The culture in Vegas specifically is nearly identical to So Cal, which is why so many people from there move here. Being in most of the areas of Vegas might as well be Reseda or any random area out in Riverside. It feels very familiar. Just is a LOT less to live here. (even in the mid 90s homes were 400K in Los Angeles) Vegas always lags behind Los Angeles by about 25 years or so in property values, so buy as soon as rates go down - it's unlikely to ever climb back down by a lot. Some correction sure, but worlds cheaper than living in California - and always will be. And, of course, we use the same terminology to describe the highways. :)

1: Yes, traffic is bad at times, but I also don't really consider 10 or 15 minutes to be that bad to wait. You learn the 3 or 4 streets to avoid it all and don't take the freeways sand it's 25-30 minutes to get most places. Yes, 1.1 is never drive near The Strip. I rate this as a 2/10 to be honest, having moved years ago from So Cal. My son who lived in Houston also says it's "relaxing" to get around. 2: Yep. Got so hot two days ago (131 in the sun! - official temps are always in the shade) that several relays in my car weren't exactly working correctly. That said, mildest winters in the entire country as a trade-off. 5: California and Nevada (and possibly Arizona) have laws written where it's legal to plant native plants and no HOA or city can do a thing about it. So no water, looks good, bit of color, and also piss off your HOA and neighbors for not having a lawn. Win-win. Though, some new subdivisions are already doing this. Oddly, water bills are very low in this city. Power, though.. quite high especially in summer as AC has to run 24/7. This also makes #7 a moot point. No water for your yard, and no pool - easy and simple. Overall, not a factor, IMO. The actual #5... 7.5 ( actual #7) - Airplanes. If you live in half of the city, airplanes fly overhead ALL. DAY. LONG. There are three main flight paths in and out of the city and as I type this, I can faintly hear a plane. Where I used to live, though, the planes would fly overhead with their engines screaming on takeoff. Every 2 minutes. So try to buy a home or rent in a place outside of these three paths/areas. 8: Ask locals. We all know the 10 or so good firms. Same with auto repairs or anything else. Yes, that few. 95% of the city are chains, franchises, and people who are in it for a quick buck. That whole "transient population" thing. But the people who are legit are reliable and do good work, they do exist. 9: Drivers are worlds better than most other cities. Houston is 4x worse, Los Angeles is.. You are the best driver or your are wrecked. (witness the 3-4x a day traffic jams due to accidents). Vegas is honestly normal for most large cities. It reminds me of San Diego, actually. Lots of traffic, but if you know what areas to avoid (especially The Strip), it's predictable and avoids the tourists. Also, Just. Avoid. The. Freeways. 5 minutes more to get somewhere via easy and mostly straight surface streets, but dodging 4x less cars.. win. 9.5 ( actual #9): Flash floods. When it rains, as infrequently as it does, it comes down sideways. Wait 10-20 minutes after it rains and THEN drive somewhere. 10: Allergies are honestly 1/10th as bad as So Cal. I have to take my medication about 2x a month, versus 20x a month in La-La-Land. That said, if you do have allergies, just wear a face mask on the days the dust is blowing. In fact, #10 isn't as bad as this: 10.5: (actual #10) - Dust storms. Several times a year, we get 40-50 mph dust storms that last all night. If you can possibly do so, get a garage for your car. The sun and dust will erode most paint in 5 years.
