My approach is to check for urgent matters in the morning that are urgent and need quick attention. Then later in the day I process everything in my inbox.
Using a Mac and web version. Trying to login but get only a blank screen. Nothing! All data lost. Think I'll file a lawsuit against Evernote for the damages.
It doesn't matter how many UPDATES and CHANGES you make at this POINT, not everyone is going to take food out of their MOUTHS to pay for these changes.....I use to love using EVERNOTE, I had to go back to WORD. Everything NOW is about GREED ... MONEY... and that's why it is NOT GOING TO WORK!
I use Rocketbook memo size flip books for note taking. I keep one by my bed, in my purse and next to my computer. I then either transcribe the information or send it to a destination such as Evernote or erase it if no longer relevant. This is paricularly useful if noting phone numbers and contacts which have to be entered in several places, or writing short lists instead of entering on computer and then deleting.
😢 Approximately a week ago , it began running so slow that it was unworkable. It finally dawned on me to Re install the program. Bottom line evernote is SLOWER on balance on my desk. It's a horrible experience.
EN running slower on my IPad also. Forever to sync. Still love EN though. Bending Spoons has done a great job of improving the program. Very much worth paying for.
Does hitting enter still move you from the notes list to the selected note? Used to work that way for me but no longer - wondering if just me or general?
Good Morning Dave, I have been following your posts on Evernote for the past several months. I have the paid version, but I admit, I have not used it, or played with as much as I hoped I would. I have been focusing more of my time on revising my use of paper for daily notes and journaling. However, in that process of working with paper, it has become more clear to me how Evernote will play an important role in my new daily routine. Thank you for the continuous flow of Evernote video updates. Your videos have helped me a great deal.
Absolutely love your videos. Dave, do you know how to copy a bunch of tags from one note to another? It was easy before on desktop, but how I struggle with it
nice insight, thanks! i moved from the traditional contexts and i was trying to use energy as context, but i think it's being a disaster hehe At first it looked like a natural move since many times it would be useless trying to do some tasks that were mentally demanding ... in this case i would be able to change context to less demanding tasks. But it has many pitfalls (at least for me) ... first because when energy starts to drop my self consciousness also drop and i don't even realize i'm low on energy. Also sometimes energy comes out of nowhere when i'm really applied on something, so i could be avoiding something i could be doing. Many times the mental effort for tasks related to a project would drop as i got more familiar with it. Energy levels many times can depend on emotional feelings about the stuff the task is related. In short, there are too many moving parts to be really useful. I would start to reconsider contexts too often. This short definition you gave is a nice principle to think about it. Thanks for sharing!
Hello Dave I am having probelm trying to log in. There a page comes and tells me to reload. But when I reload it does not work. Please fix this issue. I am an old Evernote user.
I wish I could fix your problem,,but I don’t work for Evernote. I just logged out and logged back in without an issue. You might want to file a trouble report.
What a great voice you have!! I needed this information last week when I created a manual Table of Contents for a big project! Although I need a bit more help - how do we create a "heading"? I used a test note to use the feature, but just got a message stating I needed to add Headings.
After you've created a Table of Contents, if you're using the desktop or web version of Evernote, you can click and hold inside the Table of Contents, then drag it anywhere else in the note that you want.
Cannot share a note that has a table on it....they simply cannot see the entire table. Totally annoying as you are trying to send timelines to clients.
I think it comes down to "Do your job" - in whichever role you happen to be in at the moment. That means, for example, at work, my defined Areas of Focus and Responsibility are clearly outlined. In the moment, given current context, energy, amount of time - I look at my @Phone or @Computer or @Office lists and intuitively something rises to the top. The key is to then immediately step into an action without hesitation. The harsh truth is, I think -- if you have a bunch of Areas of Focus, and no actual responsibility (to self or others), then you don't really need GTD.
Over the years I found I created way too many tags. Often the tags were unnecessary as they simply duplicated a word or phrase I could search for that was already in the note itself. Over the past few months I've been going through all my tags and deleting those I don't use or am unlikely to ever use. Keeping Evernote clean and tight makes it much easier for me to find the information I need and helps me be more productive.
@@pj2kel So I found out the answer. Yes, you can. Just drag the audio file from your desktop into a new evernote note. And then when you hover your mouse over the audio file in Evernote page, it will show a transcribe button on the right side. Click that and it does it!
This was so useful. I use google tasks right now. I listened to the book a week ago. Its helping. Ive found if i dont write it down, i dont remember it. This was a scary realisation because now im afraid of all the things that ive been letting slip through my fingers all these years. So grateful for this.
Doesn't work on Windows 11 either. Thee no such option on the menu. However you can use the Windows shortcut get access wot the emoji keyboard (WIN + .) which works in most programs.
