Carol is a 70 year old van life enthusiast who not only enjoys traveling the country talking to nomads, but also loves encouraging and motivating others to live out their dreams regardless of age. Carol spreads a message of hope to people who have given up on their dreams and shares stories of people who have often began pursuing adventure, friendship and spiritual growth while living in vans, campers, or even cars. She is also a strong advocate for homeless and is working towards getting legislation passed that would prevent vehicles that serve as residences from being impounded for parking violations. Carol has been featured on PBS, BBC, and Cheap RV Living.

II can not understand why Lindy would have to pay that much in a hospital bill. She must have Medicare and a supplemental??? She would either have crappy insurance or far more money than I do. If she is low income, not for profit hospitals must subsidize some of the bill
A pay rise for lower income people is always good. Especially when they have been paid a pittance for so long. If businesses are that mean that they would rather sack people than pay them a higher wage, then they deserve to have their business go under, but their business isn’t going to go under because they make tons of money. Also poor people don’t only spend their money on accommodation! That $20 an hour buys them more food, more medical care, more prescriptions for any health problems, gas for their car, and so on. It’s immoral to repeat this sort of evil propaganda so you and big business can keep the poor, poor and dependent on horrible jobs like fast food.
Hello Carol, I caught the last end of your live. Don't feel bad about your ruff start on your live. I said hello to you and forgot to send it. I'm so happy to hear Lindy is doing well. I'm also thankful she has her son Jason keeping us in the loop. He is a wonderful son and human. I was telling my husband about the price increase LTVA is imposing. He's thinking the same thing you are about it. It reminds me of Burning Man Parking Passes. Washoe County in Nevada handled all the goings on, and Pershing took over because it is in that county. The first year they took over, they imposed a parking pass per vehicle at $45. The next year it was $85. This year we paid $150. Yes, Graham is at it again and so is Vons. Eggs hide on Fry Day. I enjoy the entertainment on your lives. I'll be doing a Lava Lindy video binge because I want to. 'I'll also be watching Lisa's Live. When are you going to do a cooking video? Don't worry about Cuddles being a bed hog. You taught Cuddles to be a cuddle bug. Enjoy your shepherd pie. See you next time.
From what I understand, they're not trying to keep poor people out. It is simply a case of the cost of hosting so many people. People are not paying extra for garbage and water, among other things, and the fees simply don't cover it. Before Quartzite became so popular, the town absorbed the costs because of the money spent there those few months made it worth it to them. However, every year it grows more and more. Either the site fees will have to have some sort of increase, or people will have to pay for services that many have enjoyed for free. I think the people affected by this will have to do some negotiating.
I was franticly outside looking in my chicken coop and in my garden. Then I decided to look in the shed with the sun casting my shadow infront of me. Then I looked down and saw the outline of my glasses on my head 😮..😅.
Asheville NC really took a beating with Helene. I hope your family is ok. I would have to pick the van I could stand up in. Especially with 2 people and a Cuddly Cuddles. You’ve done a lot of good things in your life. You deserve to be comfortable! Especially while you’re concentrating on getting your health to an optimum level. Yes I agree. They want to get rid of all the OLD people that camp in vans (me) and Nomads. 😆
Social Security and "Great Society" programs were supposed to deal with these problems. The (now) myriad of programs got more expensive and expansive but we can still find elderly people forced into vagrancy.
It’s so shameful how we treat seniors. And Social Security is so small. I didn’t work high paying jobs through my life because I did artistic things as well, and now I’m paying for it because my Social Security is around $1000 and they will be taking a couple hundred out of that for Medicare. I eat plant-based vegan which has me extremely healthy at least. I’ll tell that one lady, lentils and beans are a hell of a lot better for you than organic meat. They’ll keep you alive and healthier longer. Looking to live in a vehicle but I have a partner, who got disabled from Covid and the jab, and it’s hard to figure out how we can both fit in an affordable vehicle. Thank you Biden administration for not caring about low and middle class people when you told us that a higher price of gasoline is what we have to do to protect a country across the world, by sanctioning Russian gasoline. They don’t care about a couple extra dollars a gallon because they are all millionaires!
I have not heard one word mentioned about the rapidly growing homeless problem by either candidate for president. The only government we have the freedom to vote for would rather blame the victims of their failed policy's than fix the problem. God is not going to bless this country!
It is a disgrace how seniors are treated . After a lifetime of hard work seniors shouldn't have to worry and struggle like this. I'm very bless to owe my own small home but there is upkeep and taxes.
