She was a tough gritty player. With her very well rounded skill set she basically had no weaknesses. Opponents couldn't even exploit her 5' 9" stature too much, since she pretty much played like she was 2 or 3 inches taller than that. She's the GOAT.

She was a nightmare when she played against the Cuban team. I love her, but I also hated her at times when she scored so many points against Cuba. Undoubtedly, she is one of the best outside hitters in female volleyball ever. Grande Eugenia!!!
Yumilca Ruiz, pude verla jugar con la selección juvenil de Cuba contra la de Perú, en el Coliseo de Chincha (Perú). Ella destacó mucho por sus ataques en posición 4. Desde ahí supe que sería una gran matadora. Ganó Cuba 3-2, a Perú, fue un gran partido.
Este entrenador sufrió mucho el poderío de las cubanas en los 90s.segun mireya Luis en documental patria rezende provocó esa rivalidad y prohibió a sus jugadoras cualquier trato con las cubanas
